We are Ready!!!

I don't know about you, but I am ready for the Christmas season to begin! Each year I always feel sorry for poor Thanksgiving. She gets overlooked between the Halloween season and then on November 1st...BOOOM....Christmas decorations are everywhere!

This year Caroline has really been into all of the holidays. She loved Halloween and I've been explaining the meaning of Thanksgiving to her. She is REALLY excited about Christmas coming up. Thanks to Nickolodeon and all of the toy commercials, I hear "Mommy, can I get that?" about 100 times per day. I follow up that question with "You have to ask Santa" and I'm getting tired of saying that, too. She also loves to look through all of the toy catalogs and goes to bed with one each night. The only things on her list are the game "Hungry Hungry Hippos" and a baby doll named Chou Chou. Easy peasy.

I've been taking the kids by the Christmas section at Target and by the Hallmark store whenever we are in the mall and their expressions are priceless. The other day at TJ Maxx, Caroline yelled out loudly for the entire store to hear..."MOMMY! There's Baby Jesus!". Christmas with children is so exciting and enjoyable. I can't wait!

So, I took out the Christmas music a few hours ago. We are heading to WV today for a retreat with Roy's office. I plan to listen to Christmas music the entire way and then when we get back next week, I am debating whether to start the decorating! I know, I'm living dangerously, and like I said...poor Thanksgiving. Maybe I'll leave one pumpkin out.

Hungry Hungry Hippos is a classic. Caroline has good taste. Donna, do you have the Carpenter's Christmas? Wonderful! I've already started decorating my house if it makes you feel better.

and fyi - Paul couldn't fly out of Africa because their plane hit a BIRD! I was like, what kind of bird was it? Good grief. So it looks like he'll be home Thur. night or Fri. morning.

But, he's coming home to a pumpkin pie and a Christmas wreath on the front door. My neighbors...I'm tellin' ya, they think I'm a little wacky.

I LOVED Hungry Hungry Hippos!
I think it is still a bit early to decorate for Christmas :) I always remember each year, right around Dec. 25th, thinking how SICK I am of Christmas music! I would love to start listening to it now, but I know I'll get sick of it sooner :)

Truth be told, I've already put out a little bit of Christmas! Grayson (one of my 3 yr. olds) wanted to decorate and since the Christmas tree I put in their bathroom is one of the decorations not in the attic...we put it up along with Christmas towels and soap dispensers! He and his twin brother climb on the counter and just stare at it...who am I kidding, they stare AND take off some of the ornaments...but it's fun! I will start decorating next week because with small children around it will take me that long to get it all up! I LOVE CHRISTMAS...think I'll go get some CDs out now! Thanks, Donna!

Oh yeah, you know I am ready. I just need to get a tree that fits in our house.

Thanks so much for the coupon tip as I really want porch trees this year. You are the best!

Love to you and have a great time on the retreat.

Ang, and Candyman playing in the background??!??!

Have fun, Donna. Stay away from the scary yoga lady, tell Ted niiiite, make sure to eat your muffin w/ a fork and knife if you have breakfast w/ Sylv and be sure to say POWERFUL everytime the speakers say something REALLY profound. When all else fails, cut loose w/ Glenda and Mama Jeanne. Be careful and love ya.

I know what you mean! I'm thinking the same thing - I love Thanksgiving but I think I may break out the Christmas decorations this weekend which is the earliest we have ever done this. We could wait until next weekend or even after Thanksgiving but it gets crazy the first of December with all of the Christmas musicals, etc. so I think we will just decorate super early this year.

Oh goodness, I'm usually ready to go on Christmas stuff come October 31, but I'm just not getting that feeling yet. I even have Christmas cd's in my car and I still can't get into the groove. HELP!!! Last year I had all my shopping done by the end of October so we just decorated and celebrated all of November and December - it was GREAT!!!

Okay, after writing all that I've decided I'm going to get myself in gear...c'mon, Jennifer, bring that inner Santa out and start CELEBRATING!!!

Don't you just love all the toy magazines that have been coming in the mail?! Max will literally lay on the floor and look through every page. Do you guys remember getting the Sears catalog when you were little? My brothers and sisters would sit and look at it together and would "slap" what we wanted as soon as the page was turned...GOOD memories!!

Sorry for the long and self-absorbed comment...it was all about me. :) Have a great weekend trip to "West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home, country road!" :)
