New Room, New Graham

I've finally finished what I started in September: Caroline's big girl room is basically completed. We hung the blinds and curtains this past weekend, which was the final touch. Let me just say that she LOVES her room. She calls it her big girl, princess, pink room!

Welcome to Caroline's Room! Warning: You are about to see A LOT of pink.

We put up crown molding, painted the ceiling green, the walls pink...

Always check Ebay, first. I got the duvet cover and curtains there (BRAND NEW) for a fraction of what Pottery Barn Kids sells them.

I found this chandelier on clearance at Lowes for $15! I spray painted it white, made a cord cover for the cord (that matches the chair), got cute pink shades and then added the ceiling medalion for a more feminine/dramatic effect!

I recently got her "coming home" dress framed along with a picture of her wearing it. I love this!

Look how she's grown! Her first year growth panel and those little, tiny hands and feet:(

That's why I had to get a "rock-a-bye" chair for her room! My parents gave us an old chair in their basement and I had it recovered. We read books in this and snuggle:)

Roy's parents gave Caroline a fish tank for Christmas and we have been telling her for a long time that we'd get her a fish for it. Well, January just flew by and we forgot about it. I promise I wasn't intentionally trying to forget! I'll admit, I'm not a pet person, but I'm not a mean mom! When Roy was in Texas hunting, I kept telling her that when Daddy came home, we'd go get our fish. Well, that prompted her to want to name her fish, "Texas". Yesterday, she was being so good and cute--and she's now poo-pooing in the potty!!!-- so I told her we'd go to Wal-Mart and pick up Texas. So, without further ado, may I present the newest member of our family....TEXAS GRAHAM!!!!

Caroline talks to Texas like he's a baby. She'll say (in a high pitched voice) "Hey, Texas! How are you? Are you hungry?". It's so cute! I made sure I got precise directions from the fish lady at Wal-Mart on how to take care of a fish. I'm so afraid that I'm going to kill him!!

Charlotte has it's very own Martha! The light fixture turned out really nice, Donna, way to go! That fish tank is hilarious, I've never seen one so glam before...Caroline is quite the grown up princess now, oh and I love the fabric you had the chair recovered in!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the room! Seriously, who knew you were so crafty. My sister is like you - makes window treatments, adorable clothes, cool paint designs, etc - makes me sick. :) She got the creative genes and I got nothin.

And the fish tank is adorable! I'm with Denise though - I give Texas a week. By the way, as a Texan I love the name!

Cute Donna. I love the dress framed and picture of when Carol came home. Cute idea. That's something she'll always love to look at when she gets older.

GOOD JOB DONNA! I love the room. It is so sweet and little girly. So sweet. I am already thinking of how I want to do Olivia's and she is only 8 months old. I love doing the big kids rooms b/c you know they will stay in it for a while and you don't mind the investment AND they are still young enough to let you pick everything out.

I am a little disheartened. I thought for a moment that the fish was named for me but I guess I was wrong. I was starting to well up with emotion (I mean, having Dolly's Texas post dedicated to me and Caroline's fish - TOO MUCH, TOO MUCH!) That is OK about Texas. No resentment here. Enjoy the little fella!

WOW!!! Donna, that is the CUTEST little princess room. Oh my goodness...Caroline must feel like a little queen in there (well, I guess like a princess!). Do you remember the name of the Charlotte store that has the golf cart rockers?

Well, Kristi, I didn't want to sound psycho, but we did name the fish in your honor. I made up the whole "Texas hunting trip" bit. (wink, wink).

Joy, your girls' room is beautiful! What are you talking about me outdoing YOU?! You a funny lady.

Wow! That's a gorgeous room! It looks like something out of a catalog! I LOVE the idea of framing the coming home outfit! I might have to steal that idea!
