Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving came and went quickly this year!  We had a good time up in the mountains but I hardly got ANY pictures of the day or the weekend.

To start the season off, Caroline brought this home from school last Tuesday.  It says, "Dear Jesus, Thank you for my Daddy and Mommy and for Roy Austin and Char-Char. They make me smile and lafe (laugh)!  Thank you for my teacher's and for food. Thank you for Jesus, God, Holy Sperit and my home and thank you for my blakis (blankies).  Love, Caroline"

Thursday morning, we headed up to The Cove in Asheville for our annual Graham Family Thanksgiving.  It's always a huge lunch with extended family so it's fun to see and catch up with cousins and aunts and uncles that we only get to see once a year.  Here is Aunt Kendra with Charlotte. These two bonded in Alaska this summer over cookies.  Notice that Charlotte is eating a cookie that her aunt gave her:
The Cove has a huge, life size Fontanini Nativity in their lobby.  I have a picture of all of our kids at Charlotte's age admiring it.  She loved it too!
Funny, but all three of our kids have gone straight for Baby Jesus when I put them in the Nativity.  Charlotte was intrigued by his foot.

Sweet Caroline is growing up!  No more smocks for this girl.  She has moved on to big girl dresses:)

Roy Austin took this picture, but this is what the family does after lunch.  We sit in a HUGE circle and take turns going around saying what we're thankful for...and you can't just say "I'm thankful for my family."  It has to be a small "this-is-what's-going-on-in-my-life-right-now" kind of speech.  And everyone has to go.  No pressure:)  This is only 1/4 of the circle, by the way...and there is a microphone that goes with it....again, no pressure.
So those are the only pics I managed to get.  No family picture, no Roy Austin picture.  We headed up to Boone after we left The Cove and Dolly and her family met us there for a fun weekend.  She took the pictures, so hopefully I can get some copies!

Nice recap. I know Dolly and her family had a great time in Boone with you all. I haven't seen her pictures yet, but hopefully she'll post them soon. Another Thanksgiving gone, and Christmas is on the way!!

First of all, I LOVE Caroline's sweet letter with her spellings. That stage is so sweet!
I got sweaty hands just seeing the picture of the big circle and reading there is a microphone to go with it. YIKES! I would have gotten that "I'm about to cry" nervous voice. No pressure is right!
And yes, we had a great time in Boone. What a great place and always fun to be with you all. Pictures sent!
