I'll never forget the ride to the hospital in the early morning of October 5, 2010. It was still dark when Roy and I left our house and I sat in the passenger seat crying because I knew our life was about to change forever. We were used to two children and now we were about to be responsible for three. We didn't know what our baby's gender would be...something Roy had wanted to do and something that was very hard for me to do. I wanted a girl so badly. I wanted Roy Austin to be our only boy, never having to compete with a brother. He would now be our middle child and I worried about the "syndrome" that he would now own. I guess I was emotional and very hormonal:) But, I'll also never forget the wonderful sound of the doctor declaring "It's a GIRL" and the tiny, purple baby he held up to show us. That cry was so precious, yet so fiesty. Our Charlotte had arrived.
We are so grateful to God for sweet Charlotte. She's been sweet since the moment she appeared and she is adored in this house by all of us. It's evident in all the hugs--wanted or unwanted--she receives daily. She is kissed, squeezed, picked up, dragged and even sat on sometimes. And she just deals with it, letting the person know when she's had enough.
This sweet girl eats her breakfast most mornings in the car as she's woken up, carried to that car and then handed something to eat and drink while I drive her siblings to school. (Sometimes she eats lunch in the car, too!) And again, she just rolls with it!
I can't believe that our baby is now two. I wish I could freeze this time in her little life right now, because she's at such a fun stage. Charlotte is our talker and her vocabulary is stronger than the other two at this age. She says the funniest things and loves to sing! In just two short years we all have fallen in absolute love with this girl and we are so happy that God picked us to be her family. He knew exactly what we needed when he gave her to us.
And that only boy of ours? He and his baby sister have such a sweet relationship and he calls her HIS baby:)
Happy Birthday, Charlotte McCue! We love you!

I just love all those pictures. Yes, she really is a special little girl, and she has worked her way into the lives of the whole family.....although it didn't take much "working" because she's such a sweet, tender little thing, and so easy to love. The time certainly has gone fast, and who would believe she's two already. Enjoy each day with her, as I know you are. Happy Birthday, Sweet Charlotte!!
We had the sweetest time with Miss Charlotte.....she is sheer joy. She is so easy to take care of.....even when she is sick and doesn't feel well. I love that buck tooth smile of hers and she is so loving and adorable....Happy Birthday sweet girl and know that you are loved and adored.
Aw, sweet Charlotte. I cannot believe she is 2 but at the same time it seems like she has always been a part of our big family! She sure is a cutie! I'm so glad that you have her! Happy 2nd birthday Queenie!
That is so sweet - I love it! Love the pictures too!!
I thought I commented on this one but guess I haven't. Sweet post on a sweet girl. She is a perfect "youngest" and she reminds me a lot of her mommy already.
