Thanks for my Memories Back!

Fourth of July week, we planned a trip to Virginia to visit my family.  I got the car packed up and we headed to Roy's office to pick him up.  We had a quick errand to run at Southpark Mall and then we were on our way north.  We stopped for gas near Greensboro and rolled into Grammy and Grandaddy's driveway around midnight.
A few days later, I went to the car to get my video camera ready for our annual family Talent Show....only, it wasn't there.  I went back inside, thinking Roy brought it in, searched our room and the downstairs but didn't find it.  A few more searches took place before the horrible thought hit me that it probably fell out of the car either at the mall or gas station.  I felt so sick.  There were too many great memories on the camera card inside the camera (starting at Charlotte's birth) and the camera itself had precious videos on it...my favorite was the kids meeting Charlotte for the first time the hospital.  Every time I thought about it, I wanted to cry.
I had to tell myself that it was okay....how often do we watch home videos anyway?  And all the pictures of Charlotte's birth and first few days of life I had luckily put on Shutterfly, but still!!  We stopped at the gas station on the way home and they didn't have it...nobody turned one in.  The mall was no help...no camera was turned in (and by the way, they were very rude).  We just took it as a lesson to be learned and I secretly hoped that it was still in the car somewhere, waiting to be found even after many, many searches.
So, today--almost a month later---I was flipping through the TV and saw "A Baby Story".  My first thought was, "man, I am so sick that I don't have that video of Charlotte as a baby!!".  So, I thought I'd try my luck again and I dialed the number to Southpark Mall.  Again, no camera and again, major rudeness.  I looked up the Sheetz where we stopped and asked the man about any cameras being turned in.  "Is it a Panasonic?", he said. YES!  It is currently locked up in their safe waiting for the owners to pick it up.  Fortunately, Roy has a friend driving up that way tonight and back through town again tomorrow.  I am SO relieved and happy.
Tomorrow, I will watch that video with an even bigger smile on my face:)

Wow....I'm so glad you found it....or someone else found it and turned it in. It really is unusual for the Sheetz to have it after all that time. I agree with Denise, it's nice to know that there are good honest people out there who turn things in! Thank you, Jesus!
