Here's a little of what we've been up to at our house.  Last week was a busy one with lots to do.  Tuesday was my crazy day that started off with voting FOR marriage, the candidate for Governor and then a very special Mommy breakfast celebration with my sweet RoyBoy.  His class had a little program for the mommies and it was so sweet.  Here he is singing "God Made My Mommy and I Love Her":

After a meeting, quick trip to TJ Maxx, pickup and then speech therapy, we attended an art show at Caroline's school.  Here she is proudly displaying her art...it's the butterfly on the very top.  Right before this happened, we were at a very busy Harris Teeter in the area.  Halfway through our shopping trip, Roy Austin had to go potty, so I stood at the entrance of the aisle and watched as he and Caroline went to the bathroom.  About a minute later I heard blood curdling screaming and instantly knew it was my children.  Caroline ran through the store hysterically screaming "Buddy has soap in his eyes!  Buddy has soap in his eyes!". So I quickly followed her in my wedge shoes, pushing my cart, with Charlotte on my hip, to find people peering in the bathroom as a sweet lady stood flushing a screaming RoyBoy's face with water.  Apparently my sweet children were racing each other to see who could go potty and wash their hands the fastest.  After receiving many stares and "is he okay?"'s, I officially felt like a loser mom for sending her two children alone to a bathroom in a huge store, and by the time we reached the art show at 3, I was more than ready to prop my feet up.

Roy woke up at 3AM one day last week to go turkey hunting.  He was so excited to go and he was even more excited when he called to tell me he killed two turkeys with his bow.  Those bad boys are now sitting in my freezer, plucked, de-boned and ready to be made into a yummy dinner.  I've never cooked a wild turkey...I'm a little nervous!

After school on Friday, we headed up to Boone to spend Mother's Day weekend with Roy's mom.  On Saturday, we did a quick visit to Tweetsie Railroad.  It was so cold, we had to get hot chocolate for the train ride just to keep warm!

We had a fun, relaxing weekend in Boone. These three made 2012's Mother's Day so special for me and I love them dearly.

And what is the best way to start the last full week of school?  How about a rainy, Monday morning?  After we dropped Caroline off at school, we came home to ride our bikes for a bit only to have it start pouring rain.  So, we played in the rain and these two loved it!  It was nice to hear their giggles and then to plop them into a warm bathtub and enjoy my cup of coffee:

8 more days of school and then it's nothing but relaxing mornings!  CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

Nice recap Donna. Yike's wild turkey? You remind me of a Jenius I know.

And, playing in the rain. My kiddo's love to do that!

I cannot believe you only have 8 more days of school!!! We have 15--hard to believe the years just about over.

Yes, nice recap. I used to love playing in the rain, and I can see that RA and Charlotte loved it, too. Wild turkey will probably be really good. Mine was duck, and a bit fatty.....nobody would eat it! I know you'll do a good job in cooking yours. I enjoyed reading your blog.....keep it up.

I wish we only had 8 days left...we go until the 8th of June, but you started before us I think as we didn't go until the last week of August. Such a great recap of a busy and fun filled week. Let us know how the wild turkey tastes.

Donna, I always enjoy reading about your adorable children. I think I started reading your blog right after your son was born. It has been neat seeing them grow up through your blog. Georgia Anne will start school this August and all I keep thinking about is all the busy mornings I will be having. I am really not looking forward to it! I will definitely enjoy the last two months of nice mornings at home.

Love this recap. First of all, Caroline's butterfly is really good. Maybe you have an artist in the family? Love the kids playing in the rain! And let me know how that wild turkey turns out. ROy looks so proud with his two new birds.
