Miss Caroline

Caroline is starting to outgrow nap time and instead has a quiet time in her room. Today, I came up the stairs and peeked in her room. She had papers everywhere with shoes on top and the shoes all had some type of hair accessory on them. She said she was playing school and these were her students! She had searched through her books and found different names and then used them for her students' names:

There was a Meg, a Mag, Princess, BenBen (not Ben), Carolina, Nan, Max and Bob, to name a few (I think she got most of these names from the Bob Books)...

Now, I can totally remember doing this when I was little. I would take my sisters' yearbooks and search for the youngest class in the school. Then I would find the cutest kids in that class and start my class roster! So, I came into her classroom and said hi to her class. When she realized that I was playing along, she got the biggest smile on her class and there was pure joy in here eyes. I asked the "kids" to pardon the interruption while I talked with their teacher. She LOVED it. I had so much to do today, but when Caroline asked me to play school with her, I couldn't resist:)

So, she had me read a story to the class. As I read, I would stop and ask Bob or Max to quiet down. When I did this, I could tell she loved it, and as I continued to read I could see her out of the corner of my eye quietly tell another student to "shhhhh".

I love this girl so much! She has grown so much lately---physically and mentally. She has said the sweetest things lately and has just been a joy. Oh, and see her shirt? She came downstairs the other day with her shirt like this and said she discovered a new way to wear her shirt. I think she thinks she's a big girl by doing this! But, I think she's about 25 years too late for this trend starter:)

Oh Donna, I'm just checking this post and had a smile on my face the whole time. I can just see you getting in to the part and I know she LOVED it! You're a good mommy and she's such a sweet girl. Love her shirt tied to the side! So 80's! :)

That is so cute, Donna! I love that the shoes were her students and they all had bows on!
