1. When you are finally used to sleeping through the night and then have to start waking at 3 AM--again!!!-- it hits you like a Mack truck! Me tired this week! But here is my sweet reason:
Miss McCue (one of her MANY nicknames) is teething! I can't help but smile, though, when I'm holding her in those early, early hours and she gives me a huge toothless grin! And by the way, I'm seeing a teensy-weensy bit of Auntie Dolly's baby pictures in Charlotte lately.
2. Hurricane Gel is great stuff! My friends, Kristin and Chrystal, have raved about this stuff in the past, but my first two babies weren't bad teethers. After tearing up the other night watching Charlotte bawl when I put oral-gel on her gums, I went out to get this stuff ASAP, and it works! There was no early morning wake-up call today! This stuff is like a salve that you rub on the gums. Adults can use it, too, when a cold sore occurs. Today RoyBoy came up to me with his RoyBoy grin and said, "Mommy, look!". He had stuck both pointer fingers into the container and it looked like he had honey all over them. So, I did what any mother would do who has a son like Roy Austin---I made him stick a finger in his mouth. He didn't like "Charlotte's medicine".
3. No matter how many times I say, "only write on paper" to my children, I still find nice surprises like this around my house sometimes:
I discovered these nice scribbles in Caroline's room this morning. That's pen ink that you see. When I asked who did it, I seriously thought that RoyBoy was the culprit---not my soon-to-be-6 year-old. But, yep. She said she did it. Then she said, "you can go ahead and spank me now". I told her we needed to wait until Daddy came home tonight so he could see it. I used to HATE hearing that when I was little!
4. Did you know that when you use onions, you should never store the leftovers in your fridge? My mother-in-law told me this a few months ago, but then I heard it again recently. It makes sense...onions absorb things, so if you are cooking a recipe and only use half an onion, throw the remaining half away! If you place it back in the refrigerator, it will absorb bacteria and other nastiness!
5. Right now it is pouring rain outside and it's around 34 degrees. I have a new recipe from a new blog friend in the crock pot--Crock Pot Pizza-- and I'm attempting to make Artisan bread for tonight's dinner. Click here for the recipes. RoyBoy picked out Despicable Me from the Redbox for our family movie night. Can't wait!
Happy Friday!

Miss Queenie is SO CUTE! Look at her sitting up so proper! I keep saying it, but this baby is a Reber!
Laughing at the RA2 thing with the teething gel! FUNNY!
Cannot wait to hear how your Crock Pot Din Din turns out!
And the wall thing--Here too!
Why do these posts always make me laugh?! Poor Caroline having to wait for daddy to get a spanking. Isn't that hurricane gel the best?! We've been using it every day over here too.
Oh my goodness! Little Lotte is getting so big and TOO CUTE! (I'm not just saying that because you're seeing some of my baby pics either. :) ) She makes me smile and I love her light colored hair and eyebrows.
I think when we were at your house for the New Year, you got upset at Caroline for writing on the wall then. I guess she hasn't learned her lesson yet! haha! Waiting for daddy to get home was the WORST!!!
And that dinny looks yummy. Leland and I are actually going on date tonight and getting newly engaged Kelsey and Casey to come babysit. Can't wait!
Well at least Caroline told the truth.....That is a good thing!!!! Can't wait to hear about the Crock Pot Pizza.....let me know how it turns out. Love you all.....and miss you lots!
I have never heard of that Hurricane stuff. I am going to get some ASAP!
I made the crock pot pizza and artisan bread last week. Both were BIG HITS in our house. Yummy!
And Charlotte is adorable. I love me a baby in a Bumbo. Dont laugh at how I say it Dolly. :)
Ouch on the wall art! Two thumbs up to the culinary success. The bread is dangerous - warning to the waistline! :)
Finally a Reber baby for you, Donna! She is precious. (Said like Peggy)
Hooray for Hurricaine Gel! So, so glad it's given you some relief.
How was the crock pot pizza? Might need to try that!
Oh, and Why throw away the onion? Chop it, put it in the freezer, and use it next time! And, we loooove the artisan bread around here. Are you using the Artisan in 5 recipe? We love the granola bread recipe.
When your blog opened I couldn't believe how big Charlotte is getting! She is precious!
Oh man!! That little Charlotte is a CUTIE PIE!!!
