1.27.11

A few weeks ago during dinner, I was asking Roy what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday. Caroline got up from her place and whispered in my ear what kind of "theme" she thought he should have. It was cute and she was so proud of her idea so we went with it:

So, tonight when our Daddy came home, we had Fox News playing for him! We made him a Fox News cookie cake, and as we were setting the table, I remembered I had stars and stripes place mats---perfect!

And what's more American than BBQ? We surprised him and brought dinner home from his favorite BBQ restaurant in town--521 BBQ!

Then it was time to blow out those candles. Unfortunately, there is plenty of Fox News Cake left---GET THEE BEHIND ME, SATAN!!! Look at Charlotte's face in the first picture!!!:

Here's sweet Caroline telling her Daddy why she loves him. This girl has seemed to grow overnight this past week. She is getting so tall!

RoyBoy could not wait for Roy to open his presents. He finally couldn't take it any more and started opening one of them:

And I am so proud to announce that this boy is definitely potty trained. Totally trained--even during the night! THANK YOU, JESUS!!! I thought this day would never come.

I got that shirt at Baby Gap last week. It is so soft, too. He loves it and calls it his Ballgame shirt b/c the back has the numbers "14" on the back for V-day.

Oh, Denise....Roy loved his gift and those cards from the kids were hilarious! We loved how Margaux's was on top. My favorite was DanDan's. I loved how he put "tickle tickle" in paranthesis!!!!

Wow Donna! You are such a good wife. Love the theme, cake, everything. How did you do that cake? Free hand? Impressive and great job!

RA is getting so big too! That last picture makes me laugh. I know you've had a bussssy week. I'm sure you're glad tomorrow is Friday.

PS. Roy's bday present is in the mail. Sorry it's late! :(

Donna.....again, you have outdone yourself!! And Caroline is following in your steps. She knows her Daddy, and she had a wonderful idea for his party theme. Tell her I'm proud of her!! Your cookie cake is so nice, but I'm not surprised. Wish I had some now. Little Charlotte is really getting big, and so is Miss Caroline and little RA. I'm so proud of him, too....all potty trained. Your post and your pictures are making us miss you so much. Gotta get over there sometime soon. Happy Birthday to Roy!!!

Good partay! Love the theme and that is too funny that it was Carolines idea.

Your kids do look all grown up all of the sudden. Caroline especially. She looks a little bit like Dayna's girls in the one picture.

Hip Hip Hooray for Roy Boy being potty trained.

Nicely done! The logo on the cake looks perfect! Did you free hand that? I love that you do family birthday celebrations. We prefer it that way too. Also, Roy looks rather slender! He seems to not have gained any weight back since Poland. (wasn't that where he was sick?) Yay RA for potty training! Charlotte will be a breeze after training a boy! :)
