Back in April, I purchased two tickets to see
Mary Poppins with my Caroline. I figured it would be a great girls date night to have with her, especially before our baby arrived. I remember thinking August 29th seemed so far away! Well, last night was the night and we had a great time together.
Caroline with her big mama! I am starting to swell as you can see in this picture. YIKES!

After we arrived uptown, we went out for a little bite to eat before the show. She even had a Mary Poppins smocked dress for the occasion. Before the show and during intermission, she kept saying to me "
Everyone keeps looking at my dress and saying they like it!" (it was driving her crazy.)

We stopped by the souvenir stand and picked up the show CD and a little paper dollhouse of the Banks' house. The
Mary Poppins plastic bag was a special treat, too:)

It was a great night. I have to say, though, that the storyline of the musical is not like the movie. I had heard that from family and friends, but I was kind of surprised how different it was. When they were singing
Jolly Holiday, Caroline asked me where the penguins were. I told her they weren't going to be in the show. She looked at me and said "
Mommy, this is not the same movie!" I don't think she understood, either! She LOVED the show and couldn't believe that Mary actually flew into the crowd at the end. She insists that they are coming out with a Mary Poppins II and she told me last night she can't wait for me to take her to see that:)

We came home late last night to a sad little boy who kept saying,
"I go see Mary Poppins with Mommy." Oops!

I was JUST getting ready to call you to see how it went last night.
I am so happy that Caroline loved it and I must say, even for adult, it is preeeeety cool to see ole Mary flew away!
I'mm so glad that you made this memory with Caroline before the baby came! Can you imagine doing it with a new born--I mean, it could be done but so much more enjoyable without.
I love you Donna! SO happy for your family and the excitement of the new baby that is right around the corner!!!
And, looking good Mrs. Graham!!!
Thanks, Denise!
Hey, White Christmas is playing at that theater in December. I think the Reber sisters should all go! I'll be b-feeding, but I think I can slip away for a few hours!
I agree with Denise. It's so nice that you made this memory with Caroline before the baby comes. Now you need to do something with JUST Roy Austin. Sounds like he felt a little left out. haha!
You do look great still and I can't believe the baby will be here in less than 2 months. Can't wait!!!
Oh, and I'm in on the White Christmas show. I bet that would be really good.
White Christmas DOES sound fun. I'm gonna check, check, check-it-out too! :)
So glad you liked it! I'm taking my Caroline this coming Sunday night - it will be a late night, but she doesn't have school on Monday. I can't wait!
You look so good! So excited for you and your family. And can I add how wonderful it was to see Mrs. Jenius at church yesterday? Bringing in the sheeves, bring them, bring them!
Donna, hogwash! You look great! I can't even see that you're swollen. Cute maternity outfit too. :)
Caroline looks like she had a ball. Her little dress - where did you find that? Precious! She is at that age where she will remember that night, even when she is older. Good for you!
You guys oughta come to the Fox theatre in Atlanta and see the Rockettes. I took my parents last year, it was their first time being to anything big like that. They LOVED it! My dad was clearing his throat a lot in the beginning b/c I think he was uncomfortable with all the skin. Legs, legs, everywhere! By the end, he was clapping and cheering right along! ha! :)
Angela, you have me laughing tonight. I love your description of your dad being uncomfortable with the Rocketts and all the skin. hahah! Clearing his throat...I can just hear him. So funny!
Roy Boy should have come home with Nana......I would have loved to have had him for a couple of nights! Glad you and Caroline had fun.....Sweet time together! Now you have to go on a date with Roy Boy!
What a fun girl's night! We saw MP last fall in Dallas and though VERY different from the story line we all love it was so fun.
I'm surprised that Caroline didn't like everyone noticing her dress! Poor thing.
I agree with Angela - you look fantastic!
And Angela, I saw the Rocketts two years ago at Christmastime and even I was a little uncomfortable with all that skin!! haha!!!
Donna -some time I'd love if you pst a picture of the Banks house that you bought. Sounds darling!
Angela, my fantasy job would be to be a Rockette--it always has been:) I LOVE them! They came to Charlotte a few years ago and we went to see them. You need to buy the TimeLife DVD of the Rockettes. It comes out each year at Christmas time (I always see it at Target). Our kids love it!
Oh, and Ebay sells Rockettes costumes:) Believe me, I've thought about it!
Donna! You don't look swollen AT ALL! You look amazing, my dear! Caroline is such a sweet heart; glad you girls had a night out before your big day arrives...which is so close, btw-I can't believe how soon actually.
Your Dad is looking great-exactly the same as the last time I saw him (which was pry at your wedding!) Such a wonderful man of God-glad they are doing well.
Do you do the smocking on Caroline's dresses? That must be a Southern Thang because I've never seen anything like that up here...very cute and feminine for a little lady to wear-love it.
