1. This is my new favorite kitchen gadget. I saw this with my SIL at the Greenbrier last year and wanted to get it so badly but it was a little pricey at $50. I've been scouting it out all year and finally got one for $10 on Ebay! It is a Vacuvin marinader and it is GREAT! We are major carnivores in this house. I always find myself forgetting to marinade the meats until it's too late. Problem solved. Stick your meat in this thing, pump it up with the vacuum pump included and within 20-30 minutes, your meats are perfectly marinaded (is marinaded a word?). Seriously, this is a wonderful kitchen gadget. They're pricey, but Ebay it...it's cheap.

2. I was talking to my friend, Nancy, on the phone the other night and we both had an epiphany! Remember how Michelle Duggar had realllllly tan/yellowish/Oompa Loompa skin for a long time? Well, she recently had her gall bladder removed in an emergency situation. Gall Bladder issues and jaundice go hand in hand...Hmmmmm. Yep, I bet she had a serious case of jaundice! Mystery solved. (side note: I love how the media has left them alone with their baby being premature and in the hospital, etc. )

3. I lived for Barbies when I was little but I want to hold them off for Caroline until she gets a little bit older. Roy recently bought her a flight attendant Barbie on one of his trips (she named her Laura after Laura Ezell--one of my friends who used to be a FA). Then she got a Kelly doll from a friend at Christmas, and then at CVS the other day there was a Holiday Barbie on clearance for $3, so I caved and got it for her. When we got home, she said that Barbie was Kelly's mom but wanted to know where was the Daddy? Well, look what RoyBoy got in his stocking from Grammy and Grandaddy:
Yep, that is Samson, the Bible character. I told her that Samson would make a great Daddy and she got so excited. These are three of her new favorite toys and I constantly find Samson carrying Barbie, the two of them kissing and dancing to princess songs, etc. Yikes.
4. Speaking of Barbies, Caroline and I were at Wal-Mart today and we glanced down the toy aisle. I got so excited! Peaches and Cream Barbie was my all time favorite Barbie when I was little. She got married and went to balls and kissed Ken too many times in my Barbie-soap-opera world. Well, Mattel now sells her again! For $45. She is as pretty as I remember and it looks like someone else would love to have a Peaches and Cream Barbie. Too bad I'm too cheap to buy one!

5. This week has been a deal-getting week at our house with Target's toy sale and Harris Teeter's Super Double Coupons (double up to $1.98!). Caroline and I had a girls day today and we found this cute thing on clearance for $19.98 at Target. Perfect for her room and it stores all of her baby doll gear inside!
6. And last but not least, I bought these things at Super Doubles because they ended up being $1 per box. They are SO good and only 100 calories per pack. Two bars come in a pack, so if you only eat one it's 50 calories. They're kind of like skinny pop-tarts. Me likie.

Me likey, too. You really do get the bargains, Donna. I'm so proud of you. Isn't it fun saving money and getting things so cheap? Caroline looks like she really loves that Peaches and Cream Barbie. We'll have to watch that one. Guess she's into Barbies whether you wanted it or not, huh?
BTW, that Samson/Barbie duo is so funny. Guess it works for her, though, so that's good. He was my $2.00 bargain at TJM!
Girl, you are a sale chaser fo sho! Good for you! You got some good stuff. I racked up at Target too and went back today to see if things were reduced to 75% off but they weren't. Maybe next week. I need a price adjustment! :)
I can't believe Peaches and Creme looks exactly the same. It even has the year on the box. Man, I feel old!
Peaches and Cream was my favorite too! Glad they have brought her back but can't believe that she is that expensive. Wow.
Good job on all of your bargains!
1. Have never heard of the marinade thing. Neat!
2. I am bringing Caroline a Ken doll--is that okay?
3. Smart thinking on you and Fancy Nancy's thoughts on M.Duggar! I agree with you on the media thing! Maybe a few other post TLC celebs could take a few pointers from Jim Bob and Michelle.
You got one! I was just thinking about that marinade contraption yesterday and couldn't think of the name of it. Let me know how you like it!
Delilah....new Barbie name! You girls are so funny about Barbie's! I wish I had liked dolls growing up. I think I missed out on something important for my girl development ....LOL! I liked live things like dogs and cats and horses and etc.
Samson looks huge(as he should)......holding Barbie/Delilah! Where did your parents find him? I haven't seen those large characters before....fun!
Good post, Donna! And we can both say, "I'm not a doctor, but I play one on the internet" Ha! Just reporting the facts.
Love the ottoman for Caroline's room - good job!
Great to see you this morning.
OK. Carol's Peaches n Cream face is a HOOT! Way to go to you and Fancy on MD's diagnosis. When in doubt, WebMD (whoa that was 2 MDs). RA2s Samson rocks. I've never seen those fig newton things and I don't believe I have that coup. Where did you get it? How many times have you been?!?! You gonna go after 2days paper? Love ya!
HPS, it was some Nabisco mailing I did where I got back a booklet of coupons. I got TONS of $1 off 2 boxes of Nabisco cookies/crackers. Newtons were BOGO so I got each box for $1.
Roy and I went to HT tonight and they had some GOOD deals. Today's paper was a good one:)
You have been a shopping machine, girl. Love all the bargains.
OK, about that Samson doll.....let's just say that I was a Barbie lover and I was guilty of...how shall we say it....recreating scenes from Dallas or Falcon Crest under the covers of the bed in my Barbie dreamhouse. I hope Samson will stay Christlike and not be lured in by Delilah. HA!
That is interesting about M. Duggar. I wonder if this will be it for them. I hope the baby is OK and doesn't have any long-term problems.
What are the toy deals at Target? Is it just random stuff marked down? When does it end?
I got the Newton things too...good stuff!
Let me just say that I think it's hilarious that you diagnosed Michelle Duggar. You must be a true fan to notice she was a little yellow. I didnt' even know she'd had her baby - much less emergency surgery. I'm guessing the two were related? Anyway, I think the word is "marinaTed" in Marinade. Maybe :)
OK, I love that new marinade gadget you have! I always forget to marinate stuff, too....
I am honored Caroline named her flight attendant Barbie after me...that is hilarious! Maybe now I can give my old safety demonstration equipment (seat belt and oxygen mask) to someone who will appreciate it one day! ;)
