Girl Time

Yesterday afternoon, Caroline and I went on a girls only date together. We started out by going to a piano recital at her piano school. She was too new at piano to play in it this time, but hopefully in the Spring, she'll be ready. She loved watching all the kids play and it brought back many memories for me. She was so cute clapping for all the kids and she loved the idea of a reception afterwards with punch and cookies!

After that, we headed to SouthPark Mall, where again, she cracked me up. She was trying so hard to be a big girl. She followed right behind me and every piece of clothing I touched, she touched. She'd say, "Mommy, this is cute!", while showing me something. She said the store she wanted to visit was "Kids Barn" (Pottery Barn Kids), so we went there while she played in her dream kitchen. It was nice not to have to rush somewhere or tell her to hurry up...it was just me and her doing whatever we wanted.

Then we went to Barnes and Noble so we could get our drinks and read some books. She picked out a pile of them and we went to read. I took some cute pictures, but my camera won't read them for some reason! Anyway, after that she said she wanted pizza for dinner so off we went. She wanted me to sit next to her in the booth and so there we sat together, side by side. I told her that I had had such a good time with her and she agreed. And if that wasn't sweet enough, over the speakers that cheezy song, "Butterfly Kisses" (sorry, Dayna!) started playing. Embarrassing, but I got a little choked up! It was a sweet night and something we will do more often.

Oh, and on the way home, one of the radio stations was playing non-stop Christmas music. "Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer" was on (the version by Burl Ives) and Caroline got so happy and said, "That's Grandaddy!". I laughed so hard, because I guess Grandaddy's voice sounds like Burl Ives'?! I don't think so, but to her, he does!

Sweet! Burl Ives, very cute. Daddy will like that.

Also, I'm glad that you explained South Park. I think Chris thinks you watched the show South Park with Caroline. Funny!

What fun! Enjoy those times because I can tell you, one day you will be saying "this is your last time to... before you leave for college" boohoo! I am enjoying my (after the sisters are in bed) trips to Target with Shae, and saying YES to any invitation she throws my way!!

I hope your camera will read the pis soon, can't wait to see them!

We are doing our boxes for OCC tonight! FUN!
