In our house, you will more than likely hear me say every day, "
Roy Austin! What are we going to do with you!!!" Sometimes I follow that up with "
should we keep you or sell you? I think we'll keep you!". Well, this morning we were going to the post office and he did something (I can't remember what) that caused this phrase to be said. Then, I followed that up by saying to Caroline--
joking, of course---:
"Brother for sale: he bites Mommy's shoulder while waiting in line at Harris Teeter to get a reaction out of her, pulls his sister's hair in the grocery cart to get on her nerves, he's a mess and a half, he's constantly making noise..."
--Then I said---
"How much should we sell him for?" and Caroline replied, "Eight Cents". So:
BROTHER FOR SALE: 8 Cents!!

I hope you know I am seriously kidding. I would NEVER get rid of this boy. He may be a mess, but he one loved mess:) I will say that HPS is right, though. This brother and his sister are clones of Max and Ruby!!

8 cents! Wow, I'll take him! Bless his heart.
BTW, I think Brother For Sale is the name of a Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen DVD. I vaguely remember that from when Maddie was little! You should check into that for Caroline. She would like it--it was from when the Olsen twins were about Caroline's age. Ebay it!
Yeah.....I'll take him, too. I'll even take him for free. I might give him back after a little while, though, and that's just because I would be exhausted from keeping up with him. I don't know how you do it, Donna. Just remember, he'll grow up and then all these experiences will be things to laugh about. Bless his heart....he's a real sweetheart!!
HILARIOUS!!! I remember one time I almost made a sign for Savannah to put on the curb: FREE BABY, CAR SEAT INCLUDED!
I was going to say I'll take him for a dollar but looks like I might have some outbidders ahead of me. :) He may be a mess but he sure is good for a laugh. What would you do w/out RoyBoy. Better yet, what would Ruby do w/out her Max!?!?!
Shel Silverstein has a poem called "Sister for Sale". It was a favorite at our house. I'm certain you could change the words just a bit to make it fit :). I'm just hoping your'e wrong about it being a "boy" thing and we escape allllllll of this fun. I know - not likely!
I thought I had commented on this but I guess not. These pictures make me laugh. That boy is a mess! He's so funny. I'll take him too. Caroline wouldn't know what to do without him though.
BTW, I bought Michael that same t-shirt for next year. It looks cute on RA
I'll Take him! We could use some "boy" around here!
I DO "get it" though.
I am the mother of 3 girls: drama, ugly talking, squealing, dirty looks....
BUT, I now have 2 nephews IN TOWN. WOW! You poor Mamas of boys-they are BUSY, rough, fast, they throw things, etc. But they STEAL YOUR HEART. UGH. How can you EVER think of letting some girl take him away from you one day?!
{and we LOVE Max and Ruby here...Caroline is lucky to have herself a "Max"-he always IS helpful in the end, he just can't communicate it so everyone else gets it!}
oh, and I wanted to tell you to really NOT go see A Christmas Carol. Anna was scared most of the movie, and Shae kept leaning over to me saying "I hope she won't have nightmares". It was just not worth it..and BTW for 3 tickets..$24 because it was 3D.
another example of Hollywood NOT being family friendly! (why must they make everything so scary and evil??)
Great post and cute!
that is adorable! What on earth was he eating? He is one cute little mess Donna!
OK, what am I missing about Max and Ruby? Did I miss a post somewhere along the way? Donna, be encouraged....Preston was a RA. You are in the toughest time now but as he gets older, you will love that free spirit and he will settle down. I love watching old home movies of Preston when he was a toddler. He was hilarious!
Kristi, Max and Ruby is a cartoon with rabbits. They are brother and sister. Max is mischievous. The big sister (Ruby) is always getting on to Max. It's a weird cartoon because the animation makes them look like paper dolls. Their shape always stays the same, but my kids loved it!
Know the feeling, ha ha!
