WWU--Graham Family Style

***This post is pretty long...just a warning****

This past weekend was a busy but fun one. It all started with Roy's little sister, Cissie, and her husband Corey stopping by to visit us for a few days on their way down to Florida. They arrived on Friday night and we ate dinner, went out for ice cream and then worked it off with a fast walk/run. When Caroline heard we were going on a walk and when she saw her Aunt and me in our work out clothes, she quickly went to go get on her running outfit, and to find a headband to be like us:
Here we are stretching before our big 3 mile walk. I don't know what stretch I'm doing.

Here's Aunt Cissie keeping up with Caroline. Sorry the picture is blurry, but I was running and pushing Roy Austin while taking this picture.

Saturday night, Kendra (Wil's wife) and her kids drove down to Charlotte. After we ate dinner, Roy and Corey took the kids home while us girls went out to Starbuck's and a movie. We saw The Proposal and it was cute--two thumbs up! Kristy, we missed you!

The next morning, we all got up, skipped church (yikes!), and drove on over to Carowinds! Wil got in late Saturday night, so we were one big happy family (minus Jane and Franklin and the Edward Graham family). We got there right when it opened and let's just say that if you live in Charlotte, go to Carowinds on Sunday. The park was so empty. We rode rides over and over again with no lines to wait in. The atmosphere was a little depressing, but it worked out great for us! I kind of have the feeling Carowinds may file chapter 11 this year, because the place is really run down!! Look who we saw when we entered the Nickelodeon area:

Harry Jack, this is for you! You would LOVE Carowinds:

Right when we got into the park, Wil made sure Quinn wouldn't get lost. Look what he wrote on the back of his shirt!:

Caroline had such a fun time. She was giddy first of all because she was with her cousins, but this girl is a thrill-seeker! She LOVES to ride roller coasters!! I thought she would be scared, but nope. She rode her first roller coaster and was so excited afterwards. She kept saying, "Again!" each time it was over. We rode this roller coaster about 5 times:

Roy and I both agreed that the entire day was worth it just to see her reaction to everything. At one point, she turned to me and said, "Mommy, I just love my cousins"! The look on her face in this picture says it all:

RoyBoy wasn't able to ride much, but he rode this balloon ride 3 times and belly laughed through the entire thing. He loved it! It made me a little bit dizzy:

Speaking of being dizzy: after riding 2 real roller coasters, I think Cissie and I decided that those days are over for us! Wow! We had the worst headaches afterwards. It was awful.

Now, Carowinds is an interesting place. Roy likes to just people-watch when we go. There are some...let's just say...creative dressing people there. Because there is a water park connected to the amusement park, some people literally walk around the entire place in string bikinis (and these people are usually the ones who don't have any business wearing one). The place can definitely raise some eyebrows. Julie Day, this is for you (Roy had fun non-chalantly taking these pictures!!!):

Yes, this mom had four children with her. I honestly cannot believe Roy had the guts to take these!! I hope her husband didn't see him!!! These were taken while I was holding our children on the balloon ride.

We were at the park for 7.5 hours. By the time we left, we were all hot, tired, sweaty, sunburned and stinky. All of the kids did great, though. There was not one temper tantrum, crying spell, pitching of fits...nothing! They were great, even without any naps, but by the time we left, RoyBoy had had enough:

*notice all the red scrape marks all over his knees and legs. These are from his continuous falls off of brick ledges all over Carowinds.*

The other kids got to take home a souvenir of a plastic straw filled with different flavors of sugars! Yum. We got back to our house for some nice baths, clean clothes and take out dinner! It was a fun weekend and we all enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for visiting us Lynch's and Graham's, and thanks for teaching us how to play Nertz, Cissie and Corey!! Wow, that was a long post!

Roy, way to use your time wisely while Donna was on the balloon ride!! Good picture taking- I love it!

I have to say, I cannot stand that balloon ride. I can ride on anything, but that ride made me sick.

RA is getting SO BIG! Maybe it's just the way he's sitting in the stroller shot. It's so sweet how much Caroline loves her cousins. Peyton is the same way around Jody and Kathy's boys. Pure bliss!

Who said the "Pink Bikini" lady was married? This day having four kids doesn't mean your are married! Oops! I am sorry Edward, Kristy, Hannah and I missed out............Franklin isn't sorry he missed out! Love you all and miss you.

PS........I love all the pictures! Caroline in her workout clothes and Quinn with Will's phone number on his back. I should have done that with your husband when he was little. I lost him four times in one day at the State Fair. He about gave me a heart attack that day! I finally threatened him with his life......

Remember that ride me, you, Dawn and Danny went on that about made us all throe up??? The one we bought the pictures of us riding it??? I just found the pictures the other day. FUN-ee! I laughed just looking at the picture! We all have STUPID faces on.

If I can remember right. That trip was a spur of the moment trip too. I think we, too, also skipped church that day.

Looks like ya'll had some serious fun and it was so nice of the guys to watch the kids while you girls had a night out. It's great too that the cousins could hang out and be with each other. Caroline sure does LOVE her cousins and that's so nice. That little girl sure has a lot of love in her heart and loves Michael so much too! What a special girl. I can't wait to come to Carrowinds with you all next year to have some SERIOUS fun!

Another great WWU update from the Grahams! You all know how to partay!

That Caroline is such a sweet girlie-girl. The pics of her are so cute. I bet she was beside herself all weekend.

My brother and SIL always had season passes to Carowinds when they lived in NC. Tell Roy that we are all proud of him for the picture he took of LaFonda in her pink get-up. LOL! I hope he took it to be funny and not for lustful reasons. HA! And the number on the T-shirt.....SO FUNNY! I'll have to remember that for myself since I am aging and might start getting forgetful.

What a fun weekend!! The pic of you, Cissie, & Caroline stretching is too cute! My mom & I went to see The Proposal on Sunday afternoon.....I agree two thumbs up! Glad you all were able to have a girls night out and so sweet of Roy & Corey took care of the kids.

I was at Carowinds a few weekends ago for SONfest; Richard of Young & Associates asked me to be the representative for him when Brandon Heath went to ride The Cobra with a radio winner. When walking through the park with a someone from Carowinds Guest Services, she was talking about how much they had spent on upgrades this year.....painting/planting/etc. I didn't see much of the upgrades but I wasn't in the park too much; only for the Cobra.

Anyhoo, glad y'all were able to make some fun memories with all the cousins. :)

Carowinds reminds me of Kings Dominion a little bit!
To the mom of 4 in the pink bikini, I say hat's off to you! I would DIE to have the body to pull that off! I actually don't think her bathing suit is that bad. At least she had on a little "skirt" thing :)
I guess living in Richmond, we see much worse things here! Lol!

Looks like you all had a great time! I'm glad Carowinds was fun and not too crowded. We will have to go there soon. I am right there with you about the roller coasters. They are still so much fun for me to ride, but I have the worst headache afterwards. I guess that just happens when you get older!

Great post Donna and a very happy anniversary to your parents. One of my closest friends is celebrating her 12th wedding anniversary today in Arizona.

I finally got a photograph to upload on my blog. It locked up the main computer, but I got one to upload via the laptop. You must read the post - Aaron had another mishap.

Looks like good times. I am impressed with Roy's bold photography of the pink bikini lady. We need to send him and JD on a trip together, between the 2 of them, they would have some great pictures.

I love the picture of Caroline stretching with you and Cissy in her cute little outfit.

I'm so with you on the swimsuits in the amusement park thing. We were at Water Country USA yesterday and we'll just that some of the images are still burned into my retinas when I close my eyes! What are people thinking??
