South Park

Here are some observations of mine while running errands at SouthPark Mall this morning:

1. I signed Caroline up for Shoe Tying Class at Nordstrom for late July! It's a free class and it looks really cute. They do it once a month.

2. While I was leaving Nordstrom to go into the main mall, a young nun and a young priest were walking in from the mall towards the shoe department. They looked to be in their young 30's and they were laughing and having a good time. I heard him say to her, "go pick out the shoes you want, and I'll buy them for you". She replied, "you don't have to do that!". I don't know why but this struck me as funny!

3. The line in front of the Mac store was crazy! I guess today the new iPhone came out? The line was SO long.

4. Ann Taylor Loft does not guarantee their clothes. I bought a dress there about a month ago and I LOVED it. I got so many compliments on it and it was very comfy. Well, I washed it according to directions and it came out of the washing machine all ripped up! They wouldn't take it back. When I asked the sales assistant if AnnTaylor Loft guaranteed their clothes, she said "yes, but only before you wash them". Huh? I will be calling the corporate office later today to see what they say. I love Ann Taylor, but I want my money back!

5. Janie and Jack is having their summer finale sale. They have some CUTE stuff and it makes me wish I had a baby girl to dress, preferably size 3-6 months.

6. I'm getting ready to make a big dinner for Father's Day, and I needed to stop by Fresh Market on the way home for some odd grocery items. Whenever I need strange food/gourmet items....Fresh Market is where I know they'll be. So, I needed fennel. I went to the produce section and found a produce associate talking to a classy, elderly lady. I politely interrupted and apologized for sounding dumb, but I didn't know where the fennel was. The lady was German and she looked at me like I had asked what an apple was! She said to the man, "Oh, you must show her!", in her thick accent, and then she followed both of us over to the fennel section. Apparently fennel is a popular vegetable/root. They both went on to tell me how good it was and the man even cut a slice off for me to smell the scent/flavor. They were so excited that I was going to try it in my turkey broth this weekend. Again, it struck me as funny and I walked away smiling. That is exactly why I love the Fresh Market!

How neat that they offer a shoe tying class! What ages is it for?

Did Janie and Jack have any cute boy things?

I would definitely be calling Ann Taylor to complain!

Hope your dinner turns out well!

South Park! I just love the name. haha!

Yes, I would make sure you get your $$ back from Ann Taylor Loft too! Go get em' Donna!

I would sign Caroline up for shoe tying class at Nordstrom just so I could hear "Mrs. Fralin" play that piano so beautiful. I could sit there all day and listen to that lady!

I wonder if all Nordstroms offer classes like that? That is pretty neat!

I have the same problem going to Fresh Market! One time I needed Jicama for a recipe and I was so scared to ask someone where it was/what it looked like that I "google-imaged" it before I went!

I called 1800-Dial-Ann and the lady was very nice. She said that they do guarantee their clothes and the sales associate was incorrect! However, because I don't have my original receipt, they can't verify the price I paid. The last price on the dress was $6!!! WHAT?! It was clearanced and no other stores carry it. So it's $6 or nothing.

I would not know what fennel was either - I would definitely need some help. Why don't you send us all a photo! I am also impressed tha you are making something that requires fennel - must be fancy!!! Also, love the shoe tying class idea. Believe it or not, Riley could still use some help. Velcro has ruined kids!

oooh I love fresh market!! I love going over there and sampling their coffees. They always have some type of gourmet coffee brewing..
The nun and priest thing cracked me up...That is kind of weird. It sounds like they were on a date. I thought they were celibate.. uh huh.. Do you think they were in costume and you were being filmed for some kind of comedy show. ha ha

and whats up with Ann Taylor loft. That is so bogus.

I laughed at the nun and priest. Do you think it was the priest that was on the news for making out with his girlfriend and then wanting to marry her? YOu might've been encountering a celebrity and you missed it.

Now, about that dress.....Donna, you don't wash fine washables on hot with Dollar Tree detergent. I tried to tell you that the other day. (HA, JK)
