When we got home, I had a nice package waiting in the mail for me from my blog friend, Rose. I won a contest on her blog and she sent me these nice treats:
Hopefully I can start reading this book this week. I've heard good things about it. She also sent me some OPI nail polish (easy, Angela...don't get jealous) and some hot tea! Thanks, Rose! You are so thoughtful. Oh, and check out Rose's blog because she has a funny post about how she recently got to meet American Idol's Kris Allen.
On Sunday, the Sounds of Liberty were the guest artists at our church! They did a great job and it was so refreshing to hear their music. Roy and I both felt like we were back at Liberty and Thomas Road Baptist Church. It was great! For lunch, we went to Azteca (locals, don't laugh). Roy knows Mexican is one of my favorites and I have been wanting it badly lately. I know the comments are going to ask if I'm pregnant--craving hotdogs and now Mexican food??Don't get too excited. I promise I am not. I did, however, eat my heart out on one of my favorite food groups--cheese. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Happy Mother's Day to me!
Me and my two. RoyBoy needs a haircut this week, pronto! His hair is beginning to take on the shape of a bowl cut. Have a good week!

BEAUTIFUL POST!!! I'm so glad you had such a nice weekend. I miss you all soooo much!!!
Okay:
1.) Strawberry picking reminds me of Grandma Olsen--I guess because years ago, she took me and Dayna strawberry picking. I loved it and hope to do it again one day.
2.) Cool about the children playing at BG's house where Roy used to play.
3.) Where was I that I missed Rose's game????? Sorry Rose. Julie LOVES that set of FR books (that book is one of a set of 3 I think). Julie, sweet girl, I still have your books. I will return them soon.) I'm gonna scoot on over to your blog now.
4.) S of L---funny! I was just asking a student our church who is gong to LU what she thought of S of L. She said, "is that the group who sings in convo????" I laughed and said "probably!"
Great weekend! I'm laughing at that first pic of you, Caroline and Roy Austin at the bottom. He looks SO MUCH like your baby picture with your bowl cut.
That's nice that Roy took you to Azteca too! YUMMY! And I wish I could have a piece of your strawberry pie! I bet it was delish!
I was just thinking the other day that we need to go strawberry picking too. I'm glad you got to do that. Thanks for the reminder. It's neat that the kids get to play in front of the BG house like Roy. I'm sure that brings good memories for him. We missed you and Denise yesterday. I hope you all had a good Mother's Day. Love you both.
Great WWU Donna! You had a packed weekend full of fun. That's my kind of weekend. Spending time with the fam.
We are going strawberry picking today. I'll have to check out your recipe.
Those pic's of you and your kiddos are so sweet. You can tell they adore you.
Now, the REAL matter of bid-ness... you didn't give us the NAME of the polish...that's the most important part! It's killin' me. End the suspense, please!!!
I forgot to mention that I LOVE hearing music from Liberty peeps. For example Calling Levi, S of L etc. It's hard to explain but it really makes my heart happy and makes me feel like home. I'm glad you got to enjoy them yesterday.
Sounds like you had a good relaxing weekend. That makes me want to go strawberry picking with my kids and make a yummy pie! I may need to borrow that new book that you got. Francine Rivers is my favorite author and I didn't even know that she had a new book out. I'm so excited! I'm also sad that we had to miss the Sounds of Liberty at church. I know they were really good.
I am glad you got the polish and it didn't bust all over that book! I really hope you enjoy Voice in the wind. It will be a great summer read. The next one in the series is good too. The last is kind of different but it is a good closure to the first two. It is amazing how bad those peeps were back in the Roman days...eek! I thought the polish would be good for your toes this summer. Enjoy... and let us know how you liked the book.
Another great post! I'm glad you got to have a fun family day picking strawberries. We have to drive to East Texas to pick berries so I have never been but have always wanted to go. WERE YOU PICKIN' and GRINNING?
That is very neat about BG's home. Did they move the house to the location of the libary or did they build the library around where the house stood? I need to go so I can connect with Paw-Paw since a friend won't introduce me.
The picture of you and your kids is so pretty, Donna!
Kristi--the house was taken apart brick by brick and then rebuilt on the property of BGEA.
Good book from Rose! Julie gave them to me a few years ago and they are good. I think I only read the first 2 though.
Looks like you had a wonderful mothers day weekend. Is Azteca like LaCareta? Sounds yummy.
Glad you had a great day. Enjoy those sweet Mother's Day pictures while you can. Taylor was BEGGING to get out of his church clothes as soon as we got home & Claire had already gone with my parents. SO my pictures with my kids have T in athletic shorts and a T-shirt! I loved the S of L and bought their CD. I listened to it while I ran yesterday.
Am I a bad blog friend or what...can you say L-O-S-E-R!!! I've been horrible so I'm just now catching up on things.
I love the questions Jenius answered - so neat! And Denise was the difficult baby??? Who knew?
Glad you had a great Mother's Day weekend! The pictures are adorable...especially the ones of them playing in front of BG's childhood home. So neat! And so amazing that they put it together brick by brick...unbelievable.
Have a great week!
Yes, everyone, I LOVED that series from Francine Rivers!! I give them as gifts quite often because I enjoyed them so much! Denise, I probably gave them to you to keep and read at your leisure! I don't want them back- I have new copies waiting to be given to my next unsuspecting friend! It's been awhile...I should read them again, myself, very soon.
Very good pictures of you and your children, Donna!
You are one of the only people I know who kids are dressed so beautifully to go pick strawberries! Normally, we do it in sweats and t-shirts! (: Love the pictures! Glad you had a wonderful mother's day!
How does Caroline keep her dress so nice and clean after strawberry picking? Thats amazing!
Cute pictures from BGEA, I love seeing them enjoy going there so much!
Fun weekend!!
Glad you had some goooood Mommy time!!
Donna, it sounds like a lovely weekend. Sweet photographs all around. I love the cow at the Billy Graham Library too!
