Both kids woke up in bad moods this morning and they were very whiney. Caroline didn't want to wear her pretty Easter dress. She was under the impression that I was going to let her wear only her crinoline to church so she could look like Truely Scrumptious on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I gave her the old "when Mommy was a little girl, she would have LOVED to have had a dress like this" talk. It only produced more tears and whines. Wow. If only my biggest worry in life was that I had to wear a beautiful dress to church instead of just my crinoline. Roy Austin cried a lot of the way to church and it didn't stop there. This was what our ride home was like:

I tried getting a sweet picture of Caroline in our back yard. She decided to take the silly route:
Isn't Mr. Graham lookin' good? He's been on that treadmill lately and I think it's starting to pay off!
All I wanted was a good picture of our two blessings for my scrapbook. Is that too much for a mom to ask for??? We tried and tried and I was getting stressed and more stressed. This is the best way we could commemorate Easter 2009:
One day we will have a nice family Easter picture. After a nice ham dinner, we put the kids down for a nap and Roy and I spent the afternoon on the couch watching a stupid movie on Lifetime. I am a SUCKER for those movies and every time I watch one, I always tell myself that I will never watch another. They are the biggest wastes of 2 hours.
It has been a nice, relaxing Easter. Beautiful weather, family and remembering what Christ did for us on the cross. We are truly blessed.

RA2 and Caroline looked adorable and I must say that Mr. Graham DOES look like he's been working out on that treadmill. He's going to show all of us up at the beach this summer. I wanted to see a picture of those kids pretty mommy too!
Happy Easter. We all had a nice day today too and the weather was perfect. Michael wore RA's old Easter Bubble smock and even though Leland didn't like it, I got LOTS of compliments at church! :)
Even with the crying Caroline and Roy Austin look sweet.
I do think we parents get more excited about the baskets---or maybe we all just give our children too much and they expect it so there is no excitement????? I don't know. It is just different than what I remember as a child.
Anyhoooooo, Happy Easter sweetie! Enjoy your afternoon. We are enjoying ours. AND, Danny has OFF tomorrow! Yahooooooooooooo!
I hear you with the first Easter at home . . . what a treat!! I loved the pictures and thought Roy Austin was just precious in that bubble. Caroline was adorable in her dress too. Happy Easter!
Oh my gosh! I 100% hear ya on that picture of your little boy crying! My son did that on the two hour ride home today from Lynchburg. Poor little guy.
I absolutely LOVE their outfits, though ;)
Great photos--even the crying ones. :o) We usually stay in town for Easter, and it is nice to have a low-key holiday and to just be together. Tanna had to work this morning, so he missed church--but we had a nice day. HAPPY EASTER!
Funny.......You will probably enjoy seeing these pictures more than if they were standing there posing perfectly. They crack me up....so Graham!!!! ....so typical! When the kids were little by the time we got to church I was so mad it would take the whole church service for me to get over it and I actually hated getting up and having to go to church on Sunday mornings.....then Franklin would think he was doing me a favor and take us to eat at a buffet. He would get his plate and sit down. Well you know with three little boys....I never sat down! I still don't like buffets to this day!
This is EDWARD...Kristy wanted me to make sure I said that up front. But about Little Roy's outfitt...I threw up in my mouth when I saw the pictures. Donna what are you thinking. Do you want him to work on Obama's homo staff or you do you want him to run the NRA one day. Come on!
Edward, I love when you comment....it's like stirring the pot and my defense mode kicks in. Little Roy looks adorable and he will grow up to be a good man just like his daddy! When you have a little boy, you can dress him however you want how's that?
Oh Edward BE QUIET RA is ADORABLE!!!! Next year he grows up! Um, and how come you never read and comment on my blog?
Donna, your pictures are Priceless, you gotta have some of those every once in awhile to make the good memories. I remember your pictures last year, looked like they came out of a magazine! I don't know how moms get all things done on Sunday mornings. Especially when it is a holiday. How do you do it?
Edward, Edward, Edward--sweet boy, that wasn't nice! If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all.
Poor Kristy!
Jane I am laughing at your comment. SO funny! Why are Sunday mornings like that?
Donna - love your post and your pictures are great! Smiling or not - you captured some great memories! :)
They do look sweet, Donnie.I feel your pain. We had a similar picture experience yesterday. You've been one busy poster. I need to catch up!
Oh my gosh I am laughing at those pictures! They are so cute (I've been there - trust me, you'll look back on them and laugh too!) Glad you all had a good Easter!
I love the pictures and RA is adorable in his little outfit and knee socks. He shoes are precious too!
I am right there with you about wanting good pics of your children. It is always SO stressful and we have to do lots of bribes. Don't they know that if they sit still and smile for 10 seconds, then it would all be over and everyone would be happy? Instead, it ends up taking so much longer and everyone is frustrated in the end! I feel like I am like that every time I try to get a picture of my 2!
Oh how funny! Roy Austin and Brody areso much alike. We did the same thing and then he took a three hour nap and all was good!
That picture of Caroline and RA on the chair made me laugh!! Poor Roy Austin looks so adorable, but so miserable! They both look sweet in their outfits - I loved them. Hope the rest of the day was better after naps - everything seems better after naps!
I am laughing at this post. I agree with everyone...these shots are more of a memory than if you got the perfect posed picture. I think Sunday was a bad day for many kids. Everybody I talked to had a bad day on Easter and came to church ready to sell their children to the highest bidder. GOOD POST DR. G!
haha!! Poor Donna. I was lol @ your post. Being the picture lover that I am, I could FEEL your frustration. :) Sorry you didn't get a good picture, but I guess there's always next year. The kids looked adorable!
Classic! And adorable. And RA does not have to wear khaki pants or a little suit next year. Seer sucker is a great look on boys!!
Those kids look adorable even with all the tears! :) I walked into church yesterday and saw one of my good friends trying to calm down her screaming 4 year old daughter...she was so frustrated and said it had been that way since they woke up. Don't children know that us parents have high expectations for Easter morning? :)
Ole' Edward reminds me a little bit of my FBIL and his lovely comments. RA2 is just in touch with his sensitive side. Don't forget the cammo pj's he had on when he woke up? The ladies like a man who is well rounded. :)
What cute outfits! Love them! We were in Ohio this past week and boy oh boy I wished we were home so that we could go to our church! Next year is a must be home! Roy is lookin good! Good for him...Clap,clap.
Just read Edwards comment....My dear cuz are you trying to stir the honey pot full of bees? I hope you are okay and hope to see you b-4 you take off.
Funny Post. I can so relate to the Easter photo, but especially to the lifetime movie. I do the same thing. And everytime it is over I feel so guilty for wasting so much time - but I always come back for more!!
This is Edward's mother and he use to wear the same type of outfits so just ignore what he had to say and considered his mouth washed out and his butt whipped.......When I have time I will see if I can find some of the pictures of him in some of the same type outfits. The problem is......I took less and less pictures with each child!!!! But he did wear bubble suits, English walking suits and sun suits soooooooo Edward---BE QUIET!!!!!! This is your mom......
PS....I don't like for babies and toddlers to be dressed up like little adults. I wanted my children to look like little children! They aren't little very long and they grow up way too fast these days...
Say it, Jane!!!!!
Jane and Jenius, you are two fiesty mommas. HILARIOUS!!!!
Donna - my computer has been acting up. I've been reading your blog but unable to comment!
I love the Easter pics - even the crying. That's just the reality of how things are right now!
Love the Edward/Jane comments. That's another thing I love about your blog - all the comments are just as entertaining as your posts!
I must say Caroline and RA look oh too sweet!! and look out Roy, he has lost some weight!! I didn't see a picture of you, Donna- Next time have Roy take a pic of you and Caroline!! I love Caroline's dress. Oh so sweet!!
