Flashback Friday

I have had a busy week, so I wasn't able to scan some old photos into the computer for today. This one will have to do. I love this picture and I have it framed in my kitchen. This was taken Christmas Eve 2005 in my parent's basement right before our annual Christmas Eve Dinner. While growing up, it was our job to clean up the kitchen after dinner each night. Somehow Dawn, Dolly and I ended up getting stuck with it and we hated it!! We learned to turn dish duty into singing sessions (we actually harmonize pretty well) and girl talk time. I still hate to clean up the kitchen, but it's always more fun when you have 4 other people helping you do it! Thank you, Jesus, that the neices and nephews can start doing this pretty soon.
Happy Friday! Enjoy the weekend!

I loved it when the LORD gave me a daughter and daughters-in-law to help me clean up the kitchen. Actually Will was pretty good help especially in Alaska.....all the kids did better up there for some reason.

We do have wonderful times when we're all together, don't we? And I'm glad you girls all do the cleaning up, too. It's always so nice to hear you in there singing, talking, and laughing....and it will be great to hear all your children do the same thing as they get older. I love that picture of you girls.....good memories, indeed!!!

Good flashback! I'm laughing at Dawn's sweater though. I guess 2005 was a while ago now.

If I have all boys, is it bad that I train them to clean up the kitchen after dinner every night? Is that too sissy? I HATE cleaning up the kitchen too, unless you have sisters or friends to help.

Dolly, that sweater was mine, and Dawn borrowed it because she was cold. I doubt that she'd EVER wear it out in public!!

Donna, Why are you so much taller than everyone? Are you really that much taller or are you the only one wearing shoes?

hahaha! Good point, Deborah. If I remember correctly, I think I had my boots on with that outfit and it woudn't surprise me if all of my sisters had their slippers on:)

I bet Mrs. Breen loved all that singing practice!

I hate doing the dishes too. You won't beliee how wonderful it is when your kids get big enough to do big jobs! A few years Jason asked Madison to pour him a glass of coke - and she did. He looked at me and said "Glorious!" and she's been working ever since. :)

Dolly... put those boys to work in the kitchen!! Their wives will love you for it!!!

What a great picture!! I bet you all did have some great times growing up together. Now, you have opened up a pandora's box. I DEMAND a video clip of the Reber Trio singing in 3-part harmony. When is the next family get-together? Jenius, could you take care of that for us?

I also HATE cleaning up the kitchen. My boys have started unloading the dishwasher for me every night. LOVE IT!!!!!

You should hear it when we have birthday parties!! We are probably the only family who sings the birthday song in harmony!! Even the children are starting to harmonize too!! What funny times!

It does seem like that picture was taken just a short bit ago. We all have changed so much since then...wow! Easter is coming!

Sisters are good for making memories. That is a good picture of all of you. I almost didnt recognize Dawn with the longer hair. Are you really that much taller than the other girls? You look so tall in the picture.
