32 Down!

**This post is mainly for family, so they can feel like they were a part of Roy's big day.**Here are some pictures from Roy's birthday yesterday. We started the celebration at Roy's office yesterday afternoon.
This was my inspiration for his office cake: a good 'ol Winchester Shot Gun Shell.

Come on, guys...don't be shy. It makes me laugh at office parties how everyone just stands around making a big circle. Nobody is brave enough to be the first person to go get a piece of cake. Dolly and Hannah, I know you're laughing! Oh, the third guy from the left is Hannah's father-in-law, Mr. Scholle:

This guy's not shy. He was going from Caroline's plate to Daddy's plate looking for cake bites

Caroline didn't like the system he had going on:

But she did enjoy the cake and her own cup of Sprite:
By 2:30, Roy Austin had had no nap and he was slap-happy on Sprite. After falling out of his stroller and hitting his head on the floor, he let Nana contain him for a few minutes:

Party #2:

This time, the cake was a camouflaged cookie cake:

The birthday boy and his trusty assistants:

Caroline got her Daddy a bag of jawbreakers to bring on his big trip in a few weeks:

You know how the illustration of Roy Austin on my new blog header is of a little boy holding a balloon? Well, this is why:

He is Ob-SESSED with them! Just give him a balloon, and he's good to go. They are his favorite things in the world.

Our resident hunter with his new Wii hunting game!

Roy had a wonderful day and appreciated all of the phone calls, cards and good wishes!

Great cake Donna. I know Roy appreciated you doing these sweet things for him. I've seen a few or twenty thousand of those shot shells - I have some that are on Christmas lights that I use on one of our Christmas trees - the one in the basement. If you should ever need them, please let me know.

Roy looks like a proud birthday boy!

You ARE a good wifey Donna. Wow! Two cakes in one day. Both were beautiful. I think 32 suits Roy well. He's looking thinner these days. Is he losing a few lbs?
Those BGEA parties are the best. So much conversation and no standing around. HA! I'm sure he was glad you were there. Thanks for the pics.

How fun for you and the kids! We visit Tim at work on occasion, but being downtown Chicago at good old "Uncle Moody" is an all day event. Happy Birthday Roy!
Also, love the blog layout. What site do you use?

Donna, just wondering....did you have any of those two cakes you made or are you still waiting until V-day to have any deserts?

If I tell Ronnie that Roy has a Wii hunting game, he might have to come live with y'all. I'm serious.

I love the cake..you are so creative! See you tonight!

I am living in the dark ages as I don't own a Wii and didn't even know that a Wii hunting game existed.

LOVE the cake and cookie cake...good work Donna, GOOD WORK!

TWO cakes in one day??? You are the epitomy of a good wife, Donna! They both looked great and I'm sure tasted good too. Roy was looking so hip in his jeans and sportscoat...way to keep it stylin' no matter what your age.
