Doing Some Sunsetting

Last week, Hannah (or HPS, as she's known to the blogworld) invited me and my little shadows to the beach for a little get-a-way. I've never been to the beach during the cold weather and it's always fun to have some girl time! So, on a cold, rainy Sunday afternoon, two moms and their three toddlers hopped in a mini-van and drove to Sunset Beach, NC. The motto for the trip (thanks to Caroline) was "GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS...AND ROYBOY" (said in a chant):

We arrived in the rain, put the kids to bed and went to bed ourselves, while hearing pouring rain and waves crashing on the shore. It was very nice and soothing!

Our first day was spent doing a little shopping at some local places and relaxing at home. AnnaPreston and Roy Austin enjoyed riding together in the car cart at the grocery store. Poor AP has been deprived of ever riding in these carts. She didn't even know they existed, but once she got in and buckled up, she was one slap-happy driver:

Each day as we left the house, Hannah had to back out of the carport area and it really scared her. She would back out as she sang "Jesus, Take the Wheel":

While we were driving around, we found this restaurant. Nancy, are you forgetting to tell us something?:

The sunsets at Sunset Beach are beautiufl. I enjoyed watching the sunset one cold night with my RoyBoy:

Then the kids enjoyed a bubble bath together:

Something tells me Roy Austin was feeling a little violated in a tub full of girls:

The next day we went shopping at some outlets and we were able to get some Christmas gifts checked off of our lists. The last store we hit was Old Navy and Hannah found us a good deal on puffy vests and shirts:On Wednesday, the weather was beautiful and the ocean was so calm so we ventured out to the beach before we headed home to Charlotte:
