Sale Dud, New Duds, and a Swap!

Cue the Debbie Downer music. I didn't hit the jackpot as I had hoped, but I did come away with some good deals from the Divine Consign sale. The one dress that I really wanted and that I had put in a special place yesterday was GONE! It wasn't meant to be, I guess. I got to the sale around 3:45 and look who I bumped in to:

HPS, with her mama, Glenda, and even little AnnaPreston tagged along! Lookin' good, ladies! Let's just say that HPS had the nervous jitters. She was really anticipating this sale.

I knew I was in good company when the lady in front of me had this button proudly displayed on her purse strap. Good idea!

I didn't get any pictures inside the sale. Perhaps it was because I was so stressed that I wasn't finding much. I did run into Kristen, Chrystal, Jessica and Haley, though. Hope y'all lucked out. Here's what I managed to find:

Who doesn't love a little Hanna Anderson every now and then? I'm going to pair this with some orange tights and mary janes.
This dress features a little smocked girl jump-roping.

This little number is for November. It's a smocked turkey with a pilgrim hat!

I managed to find Caroline a bathrobe with matching pajama bottoms, by Ragsland. She'll have to grow into these because they're a little big, but it's never too early to introduce modesty to a young lady.

And although my handsome fella didn't need anything, I couldn't pass this up. It's a Bailey Boys corduroy longall that's reversible (although the plaid side is a little on the busy side, and I'm not big on the red turtleneck). It is in perfect condition and it was $10! You'd be proud of me. I didn't do any matchy-matchies this time. To be honest, there weren't any. I'm going to hit Ebay tonight to find some Christmas outfits, though. This is my last Christmas to do the sibling thing.

After the sale, I met Glenda, HPS and AnnaPreston for dinner at PeiWei. Girl time is always fun and refreshing. After that, I realized that I didn't have to rush home. Roy took the kids to his parent's house tonight, so I mozied on over to Borders Books to drink some hot tea and read up on Clay Aiken in the latest issue of People. Interesting, is all I can say. It was so nice to be alone and have no schedule, though! I miss my children terribly already, but I know they are in good hands and we need this. Marriage is the priority, you know!

Okay. I know this post seems so long, but I was so happy to pull in the driveway and see a big package on my doorstep! My fall swap gift arrived from Sara!!! I got in the kitchen and was literally smiling as I tore into the package. I had to stop to take a picture, first:

Inside she wrote a cute little note describing everything:

I give Sara an A+ for presentation:

F- Frame fit just for the Halloween season (she found a picture of Caroline and her little friends at a Halloween bash last year!)

A- Always stay warm with an insulated mug. (Sara, I love to drink hot tea and usually carry something like this in the car when I run my errands! Thank you!!!)

L- Little pack of handmade cards (She MADE these! I'm always needing little note cards. My favorite is the the thank you note laying down that reads, "I like it a latte"! Cute!!)

and L- Light up your season with a pumpkin spice candle. (I LOVE candles...especially fall scented ones)!

So, thank you Sara! You made this girl smile tonight! Now I'm going to go light my new candle, clean up this messy house and get ready for our surprise trip tomorrow. I will be MIA until at least Tuesday night. Wish me luck!

OK. I knew you would have this up and I was SOOO excited to read your post until I saw the 1st pic. Yeah...HPS is lookin large and in charge...you know it's time for WW or the gym or Operation Starvation when you don't recognize the person in the pic. Ouch. that was a doozy.

Nontheless, this post is not about me...your finds...you did good but I'm sorry you weren't as pleased as usual. Guess my rea paid off but yours might've been in vain if you know what I mean.

Cute stuff! I love the HA and the Thanksgiving outfit especially!

You all should come to ATL for the Hanna Andersson End-of-Season sale. We have two stores here now. The big sale is twice a year, and worth the wait!

Donna, I am so happy that you received the fall swap before your trip. I was a little worried! I looked so hard to find a pic of Roy Austin and Caroline from last halloween but they were all "tall" pictures. Oh well, now you can put this years in it. I'm so glad you liked everything. AND you would be so proud because I was able to use coupons on some of the things!!!

I've been out of it for a few days, but I'm back to a good one! Hannah is so funny might I add - you look GREAT HPS so just stop that right now!

Sara did great!!! Oh my goodness, I'm so glad I didn't see that before I sent her gifts because I would have been so intimidated. So, so cute!

Looking at all your cute finds makes me wish I had a little girl. Although, it's probably best because I could potentially put my husband in serious financial trouble. :)

Have a great time on your trip...we'll miss hearing from you! :)

Donna, have a fabulous trip as I am sure you will. I am sorry the sale wasn't what you had hoped it to be, but you sure did get some beautiful things.

Then, to see your Fall Swap. What great things you received and it sounds like it couldn't have come on a better day...right before your trip and when you were able to enjoy some time alone to ponder on the items and relax.

Blessings abundant and safe travels to you.

Sorry you didn't find a lot at the sale...maybe the designers are holding onto their merchandise more since everyone is hurting financially ;-( LOVE the turkey o/f, very cute!! Have fun on your trip...we will miss you!

Now, do you know where you are going yet? Have a wonderful time and think of us the whole time and take lots of pictures and start planning all the posts you will do when you arrive home. Tell my Pen Pal that I send my love. Ha!
