These luminaries are so easy to make. Go to your local Michaels, AC Moore or Hobby Lobby and buy a pack of orange, black, or white paper bags. You can buy any size. I chose the medium sized bags. Most people have Halloween cookie cutters lying around their house, so take these and trace different shapes on the front of each bag. I did ghosts, pumpkins, and moons. Carefully cut the shapes out of the bags.
You can put the traditional sand at the bottom of the bags with a candle in the middle, or you can go to the dollar store and buy a bunch of cheap votive holders and put tea lights in them like I do. Plus, this allows you to reuse the bags next year! Line the bags in your driveway leading up to your front porch, making a pathway for your trick-or-treaters! These look so nice flickering in the dark night!

Donna, what a crafty girl you are! Me like it. Too bad we are never home on Halloween night because I would for sure do this. You have a great neighborhood to do this in.
Donna - I'm going to start calling you Martha (as in Stewart)! You are so creative. Have a good day!
cute idea but I'm with Denise. We are never home for Halloween and this year we won't be either. Plus our neighborhood isn't a good one for trick or treating.
I'm totally doing this! Thanks for letting us imitate you.
I can't wait to show you pictures from our Staff Fall party - it's the 27th. But I make everybody bring a carved pumpkin and we judge them. People have come up with some CRAZY stuff. One year, someone carved Brian's face in their pumpkin. It looked exactly like him. They were just trying to suck up! :)
Very cute idea, Donna...me thinks I will have to try this one out too! We're having a neighborhood party on Halloween night so this will be perfect.
Oh, and I'm so glad to see Denise is still alive and kickin'! I got a little worried about her for some reason. How are you and that baby doing, Denise? :)
cute cute!! I am going to Michael's today! Where did you get your buckets for the "Boo" buckets?
You are sweet Jennifer. I have just been really busy.
We are wadd'ling along fine. My doctor is going to induce me the week of Thanksgiving!!!!
And by the way, I do NOT see how some people want/desire/enjoy being pregnant 18 times! Not gonna mention any name, but you can catch their show on TLC on Wednesday nights at 9pm.
Thank you Jesus my sweet baby is almost here!
Denise, you are funny!!
Inger, I got the buckets at AC Moore in the scrapbook dept. They're plastic miniature paint buckets. I don't know where Julie got the large bucket. I want to know that one, too. Julie?
Oh, and Inger...I ordered a birthday banner and a Christmas banner from emmieckaes! I couldn't help myself!!!
I love emmicakes and went for the thanksgiving one! LOL at Dolly's comment. I heard Downer Debbie music playing in the background. :)
I used paintcans. Home Depot carries nice, clean, shiny ones! They are probably a little harder to do. Be sure to use thinker paper or you will want to throw your bucket through the window! I mod podged the can and the paper and then you still have to use something like a Pampered Chef super scraper to help get the wrinkles out of the paper.
For those of you not under the influence of Ambien, I meant to say THICKER paper. Not thinker paper.
