Easy on the Holiday Decorations, Guys.

I hope I don't offend any of you readers with this post. If you are a scary Halloween house decorator, my apologies upfront. I wanted to show you what the people a few streets up are doing, though. When we leave the neighborhood and come home, Caroline points at these homes and says, "oh, Mommy. FOOKY!"

First up, a mild case of some Halloween lovin':

Our neighborhood LOVES these house-climbing spiders and tombstones. There are so many spiders climbing houses in our neighborhood and it's like overnight, we became a cemetary, too. Next...
I wish you could see this house in person! The pictures do not do it justice. It's unreal. Last week, the owners were on huge ladders hanging everything. They normally have a gigantic blown-up goblin around the front door that you have to walk through to get inside. I guess they weren't home when I took the pictures, or else it would have been inflated. Ironically, the picture showed up on my camera as "9666". Hmmm. Let's get some close ups....
A witch that wiped out on the tree.

These people went to great lengths to spookify their house. They put goblins and ghouls on a lot of the upper windows.

Here is another example of some Halloween spirit (cue the music for Friday the 13th)...

Do you think the mailman gets a little spooked when he pulls up and sees this creepy thing staring at him? How much money do you think all of these people put into their Halloween decor? Note to self: do not walk Caroline down these streets on October 31st.
And if that wasn't bad enough, as I was leaving the neighborhood to pick Caroline up from preschool, some ladies were hanging the Christmas lights up on the entrance trees!! Now, I'm all for Christmas decorations outside, but isn't it only October 14th?

If you have any "fooky" houses in your neighborhoods, send them my way.

Oh, I've got a good one for you. It's in a bad neighborhood, so I may get hurt trying to get the pick, but I'm gonna give it a shot.

Jenny, I think I know the one you're talking about. Is it on the way into Downtown Lynchburg? I passed it the other day and thought that I needed to come back with my camera. It puts all these beautiful homes Donna took pictures of to shame!! hahahah!

Oh, and when I go back to take pictures, I'll def do it during the day time. I'd be afraid I'd get shot if I went around there at night.

Donna, this is fun! I would NEVER be able to take my kids trick or treating at these houses. It's over the top!

And this might sound mean, but I always wonder, people that are living in trailers spend so much on tacky decorations...if they saved that money, they might not be in a trailer. I know, I'm awful. No offense to anyone who lives in a trailer.

Wow!! They really are something else! I was so mad b/c today I was on the other side of town and I was planning to get 2 houses that are seriously ridiculous, but I forgot my camera!! Next Tuesday when we are out that way for Kindermusic I'll definitely get the shot!

Yikes...Its just Halloween. I can't imagine spending those kind of benjamins for Halloween. Goodness people come on. I will be on the look out. Ohio is Halloween Crazy. Every shopping center has a huge halloween store.

I haven't seen any good houses to photograph for you yet. The one with the spiders gives me goose bumps!
