Here's a little FYI for you. One of the staples in Caroline's diet includes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Well, to break up the monogomy and to jazz it up a bit, I let her pick out a cookie cutter--or a "shape" as she calls them--each day and I punch out a different sandwich for lunch. We were at
Sur la Table yesterday and they have a
HUGE carousel full of different shapes for $1.00 each! They're not your average shapes either. Yes, they have the heart and the star and the Christmas ones, but anything else you can think of is there and all for a dollar! Princesses, Tiaras, Cowboy boots, Firetrucks, Spaceships...anything. Caroline picked out a ballerina, a dress, the letter "C" and a tiara. She also stuck an ice cream cone shape in the stroller, which I found while getting ready to leave the mall. I had to truck it all the way back to the store to return it and explain the lesson on stealing to my 3 year old. So if you live in Charlotte or have a Sur la Table nearby, go get some! I love to make sugar cookies, too, so I am sure we'll be making some girlie cookies in the future:
We must have picked up whatever our cousin, Janna, had in Virginia last week, because earlier in the week, Caroline had some weird virus that consisted of a cough, runny nose and diarrhea. Thank you, Lord, that she is now potty trained. It didn't really affect her playing or her normal activites. It was just those symptoms. After kissing her brother on the lips all day on Tuesday, he came down with the cough and the runny nose (fingers crossed on the diarrhea) on Wednesday morning. He is pitiful, but so sweet at the same time.
It stinks to be 8 months old and sick.
And last but not least, Happy 1 year anniversary to GRAHAM CENTRAL STATION!!! Yes, a year ago, I wrote my first post. It was for our blog "Are We There Yet?" that would track our trip to Alaska. After that trip went kaput, I changed the name to GCS. A year later and with over 12,000 hits, I have a new hobby! Thanks for the fun year, everyone!

First time that I've seen anything but a smile on RA's face -- wish I could look so good while not feeling well!
And congrats on your own milestone -- thanks for the laughs and encouragement during the last year!
Well, I have eaten a PP&J in my packed lunches to school everyday for the past month. Do you think you can special cut mine with shape? pretty please?!?
Shame Shame Caroline Graham, I remember when I took my first thing from Belks and my mom made me return them. I took those old Credit Card slips they had to slide the card over. I liked to play office, what can I say? hahaha
I also noticed Williams Sonoma is having a sale on all their stuff which also included some country western shape cut outs too but I think you found a better deal.
I can't believe you've been blogging for one year now. It seems like it's been a lot longer. You were a natural from the beginning. By the way, those pictures you took turned out really good. Did you take them with you JFJ camera?
Happy Blogiversary! I haven't been with you the entire year, but what I've seen sure has been good and made for some really great laughs!
LOVE the picture of RA...I just love that little boy and all his hair and all his rolls! :)
We just got home from a Friday night leisurely drive. We passed Carmel and toottooted laughing that ya'll were probably out in the parking lot watching the kid on the climbing things in the grass. They had set up SERIOUS shop!
Where in the world has a year gone?!?! I LOVE sur la table and will have to check it out! Thanks for the heads up.
Well I must explain that Caroline wasn't stealing. She had just been looking at all the different cookie cutters and she just "forgot" that she put it down in her stroller while checking out all the others. Now I am all for "WHOOPINGS" and making them go back and face the music....but geezzz! Anyway..she learned a good lesson, I reckon.
Mom
Give my babies a kiss from Nana...they are just about perfect! I have also been waiting to see if I got their crud..
I think I got their crud now. My throat is SORE! When I found the ice cream cone, I didn't get mad. I was more mad that I had to walk clear across the mall with a whiney baby and a 3 year old who wouldn't walk fast enough. Plus it was lunch time. Actually, it was kind of funny that she stuck it in the stroller. I think she must have thought that they were free for us!
Hannah, LOL that you saw Carmel last night! It was a cool VBS. Post on it's way....
HAPPY ONE YEAR, Donna ---thank you for all the great posts and for letting us share in you and your sweet family's lives. YOU have a gift and your stories are so fun ---thankful I can be a part of it!
AWWWWWW...that little face of RA ---just want to swoop him up and hug him! He's adorable even when he's sick. Hope YOU feel better......I use to get everything my kids had --ugh!
Happy Anniversary! I"m so glad you started blogging! It's been fun reconnecting and getting to see what your adorable family is up to; keep up the good work! Hopefully everyone gets feeling better soon and RA doesn't get that nasty stuff...
Donna, you crack me up with the things you come up with to blog about. I like it. Keep it up! You have a LARGE fan base that is great.
Poor Roy Boy! He is so cute!
I agree with Denise. Great synopsis on your last couple days. Little Roy Boy looks so pathetic and cute....and strangely enough, a little older, I think. Congratulations on your first anniversary. You've been a wonderful blogger this year, and you've kept everyone very informed and entertained. Looking forward to this next year! ILY
Happy Blogiversary!
I actually looked that word up, and it is in the Urban Dictionary!
First of all....HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! What would we all do to pass our days without the Station? Loved this post. That is so funny about Caroline a.k.a. Your Little Clepto!!! Cookie cutters today.....bank holdups tomorrow. LOL!!! I'm so sorry that all of you are not feeling well. I hope you will soon be on the mend.
Now, Jane, I am SO IMPRESSED with your commenting. You and Jenius are just the best blog supporters, ever. I would pass out if my MIL ever read or commented on my blog.
Cissie...I laughed...I too used to play office except I used church offering envelopes from the back of the pew. I would pretend I would talk on the phone to my boyfriend. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who did that. FYI - My "office name" was Margo.
