Hey, Remember Me?

Sorry for the long, awkward silence. My mom's computer is extremely slow and I didn't feel like spending 2 hours of my time composing a post. Once again, we had a fun time with my family in Lynchburg. We played with cousins, slept in, found out that we're getting a new little boy cousin in October, did a lot of swimming, and just had fun!

On Friday, Caroline helped Grammy water a lot of her flowers and trees. Grammy used a watering can, Caroline chose to use a water bottle.

On Saturday, I put the kid to work. Actually, I was the one vacuuming and mopping the kitchen floor, but when Caroline saw me vacuuming, she asked if she could do it. I wasn't about to say no! "Train up a child in the way she should go..."!!!!!

She must have really worked hard that day, because later that afternoon, she and her Grandaddy fell asleep together while watching Cars.

After the quick siesta, we ventured on over to Dawn's house for tacos. Here is Uncle Leland holding my little ham, who wouldn't stop smiling that night! Uncle Leland was smiling, too, because he found out the night before that he is having a junior!

Wyatt and Roy Austin squeezed in some male bonding time. Wyatt wasn't too sure about me, but apparently my guy thought I was hilarious.

Wyatt: Auntie Donna is not funny. Roy Austin: Oh my goodness! This lady kills me!

Roy Austin: Hey, come on, just give her a chance. I think she's funny.

Wyatt: This is ridiculous! How long do I have to sit here and listen to this? Roy Austin: Stop it! Stop it! You're killing me!

While getting ready for church on Sunday, Caroline noticed my Jackie Kennedy Onassis dolls. (side note...when I was in middle and high school, I had an obsession with Jackie. I have a shrine to her in my room). Caroline and I decided to dress Mrs. Onassis for church. I think Caroline is a little taken back by my dolls.

I told you I was obsessed.

Since it was Father's Day and since I brought along Roy Austin's John Deere shortall I bought at a recent sale, I asked Daddy to pull his ol' tractor on up to the back yard for a photo shoot, farmer style. I love my dad's hat--a John Deere straw hat!

Caroline had to join in on the fun, too!

A John Deere driver in the making.

This picture cracks me up. My little nephew, Juette, LOVES his lasso. He can lasso anything. When I was getting ready to take this picture, he quickly made sure his lasso was hanging over the side of the tractor so it could be seen well in the picture. He also grabbed my Dad's other straw hat!!

The rest of the week was spent going to the library with our cousins..

...watching movies before bedtime...

...and swimming!

Although I love visiting my family, there is no place like home. It felt so good to get home this afternoon and get back to our life. Only 3 more days until Roy gets home and I cannot wait. This trip has been much too long!

I was beginning to have serious withdrawl...It looks like you had a great week with your family! The kids are darling! Tell Roy he can't do this kind of trip again! Will we see you on the 4th at the usual spot?

Donna, that is funny about the obsession with Jackie O. I too had one with her growing up. I did a lot of reports and read a lot of books on her. Sad but interesting life she had!

Why did I never see that doll collection? Did you hide it when people came over? I still think of you when I hear or see something on Jackie O. Great update and pics; RA was thinking his Mommy (or Mummy as they say here) was one awesome lady...too cute! Three more days; you can do it!

Those pics of Wyatt and RA are SO CUTE!!!! I love that Wyatt is just not going to give you a smile no matter what--so cute! And, that your little guy is cracking up--again, SO cute!
I remember your Jackie dolls, Donna! And, I remember when JFK Jr. died, my first thought was, "Oh no, Donna is going to be beside herself!"

Wow! Your mom kept your Jackie O dolls? When we all got married, every trace that we ever lived in my parent's house was GONE!!!

I loved the post and know you had such a good time. It looks like your parents are the most loving grandparents.

I died laughing at the boys photo-op. Your commentary on the boys "dialogue" was hilarious.

Yes, when JFK Jr. died, I was heartbroken and I even cried!!! Holli, the dolls were there believe me:)

The dolls stayed in my room when I married Roy. I have always threatened him that if he ever decides to hang some animal heads in our living room, I'll bring out my dolls and I'll even place one next to his nightstand to watch him as he sleeps. One day I will move the dolls to Caroline's room.

So good to see you back in the blogging world. I feel like I have taken a little "blogger vacation" if you will, but I can feel a new post coming soon.
Looks like a great week!! Loved the one of Caroline vacuuming!! and of RA's personality. He is growing so fast!!

Donna, good sweet post! I love seeing pictures of home. It makes me feel like I am there too! Sniff sniff!!

The boys are so cute. Wyatt must take after his daddy in not smiling for pictures! Funny, but cute!

And, Kristi, all of our rooms are still somewhat the way we left them when we got married and moved out of my parents home. Donna and Dolly's are the most in tacted because they left their original furniture---I guess the rest of us girls needed ours to sleep on when we first got married. But anywhoo, that is what is nice about coming home--we still have our rooms!!!! LOVE IT! Thanks mom and dad!

Alas, alas! Chores even now?!??! Did Denny fax you your list all the way from FL?!? The tutu is adorable. Don't forget to send me who you got it from. I'm glad you were able to go home and I know your parents enjoyed you being there! I expect one of your next posts to be reporting live from JNN!
