Making the Team

Okay....

Mom, check. My sisters, check. In-laws, check. My good friends, check. People I don't know who read my blog, check.....oooooh, wait. This is where the problem is:

Blogger. com will only allow for me to invite 100 people on my privat blog. Do you realize that I feel like I'm back to narrowing down my wedding list? Should I invite this person? I haven't seen or heard from this person in a long time. This person never comments. Ugghhh, the thoughts go on and on.

I feel like I'm making cuts for an athletic team in highschool and hurting delicate, fragile feelings. Sorry, sweetie...you just don't have what it takes to be on "the team". So here's what I'm going to do: I am narrowing the list down and I am still waiting on a few lurkers out there that I know read our blog who still have not commented. I have some of your backs (ahem, Nikki Hogsed), because I got your addresses from people but some of you others are needing to respond asap or you'll be in trouble in a few days when you try to log on and realize that you are being denied access. Ouch. That has to hurt.

So get on it and Hannah, I promise I'm going to do the Prom post in a little while. I'm just fine tuning and tweaking some things right now.

What a project! Just let your fans who don't make "the cut" know that you'll be writing a book, out in stores in 2010, so they can pick up where they left off. You'll actually make money on that too! Sorry Donna, I know that's a pain to have to cut people but who knew you would only have a 100 count limit and you're blog would be so popular. hahahah!

You could start your own "Donna Newsletter!" Once a week you could compile your blog entries add in some funny comments and email the newsletter to your growing fan basem (people who don't make the cut).

You don't have to rub it in all of our faces that you are popular and have a popular blog. And you have many stalkers.

Only kidding. Do I make the cut? Please Donna, let me be on the team. I will leave more and longer comments! I promise I won't let you down. Put me in coach!

OK, I guess I will plead my case too...I think my brother in law (Barry Luff) worked for your Dad! My father in law is Gordon Luff (hope that one doesn't count against me! Ha ha!). We run a christian camp in California (you are welcome ANYTIME),and I am jealous that my daughters are "off the bow" as my husband says...they will NOT wear them anymore (they are 8, 10 and 15...AND we live in CALIFORNIA...be glad you are in the sweet south!) I will comment later if I think of any other reasons you should put me on the list.....you can ask Christy Damas Martin if you want a background check! :) (I do want to start a blog for our summer staff at camp...so the parents can read about their kids...guess I need to figure out how to do it.)

Okay, I just talked to my Mother in Law, Dottie Luff. She wanted me to tell you that she was the first "Woman of the Year" at the Vista Women's Club, sponsored by Macel Falwell...she said if that doesn't get me in what could??!! I have told her in the past that I would have that engraved on her tombstone (cause she has mentioned it a few times..and still has the platter they awarded her!!Wonder who will get that in the will??)

impressed yet? :) Inger Luff

Who knew going private would be such a production...With his Drama at the Station, I might feel like I'm in high school w/ the girls wondering whose gonna make the cheerleading squad . :)

Okay, I will be one of those who comes out of the wood works! I know you have to narrow down the list so I will not be too disappointed if I do not make the cut:)! It has been fun to read your blog, I am sure others agree that you are a great writer! So, by chance if there is a spot, maybe you can get my email from Dolly or Amy.

Your blog lurker,
Kelli Mathison

I"ve been thinking about going private too. It creeps me WAY out to think about some random, creepy internet junky reading what's going on with our family and now especially with pics of Xan...it's not just me I'm exploiting anymore! Not that my blog is anywhere close to "The Station" but still, I get so many people telling me how much they like it and yet they never comment..annoying! Why expect someone else to do all the work of opening up about their lives just so some lurker can sit back and never have to reciprocate? phew, breath, Holli, breath.

Holli! LOL! You're so funny. I know what you mean about the commenters. It helps to get comments, guys. I guarantee if you go private people will come out of the woodwork to read about Northern Exposure!

OK, this world is so small. momofgirls.....I know your two sister-in-laws. I live in Rockwall, Texas and went to school for two years with Laurie and my brother used to be engaged to Stephanie who is now married to Barry. What a small world.

YEAHHHH! Just saw my "invite" to be on the GCS team! I DO feel like I just made the cheerleading squad all over again! LOL! Seriously, this has really opened my eyes to people out there reading blogs.....who never post! I promise to be a good "post-er," Donna! My husband, Dave, says to tell you when you're ready to see a publisher, he'd like to be your agent! haha! Thanks again, for including me -- I would miss hearing about GCS -- you inspire me!

i can't tell you how happy i am to have made the cut (without even a plea!) i feel so privileged. i like dolly's idea....WRITE A BOOK, DONNA!!
i know what you're thinking, and YES, i will endorse it on my blog and i'll even write the forward. not a problem, donna. not a problem.
my dad's writing a book and i'm doing the same for him. and you know what sweetie, you're family. like it or not!
now, don't let this popularity go to your head. i'll quote a very wise young girl from the movie that introduced Patrick Dempsey (can't buy me love), "Popularity isn't everything." I should know.
