...In With The New!

Phhewww! Let me start by saying that I am EXHAUSTED! Roy is in Latvia, so I've been single-parenting it for two days now. I don't see how single parents do it. Seriously, hats off.

Our busy day started off with Caroline's preschool Easter party. Two of my friends and I signed up to be the party moms for this party. Let me just say that doing a craft, story and snack for 8 2- year- olds is interesting! It was a whirlwind of a party, but we had fun:

Caroline and her buddy, Caleb, enjoying some Easter cookies. Laura, if you're reading this, look at Cole in the background and think about what he was doing!!!!

Look at this cute Easter craft idea I got from Familyfun!

After the party, we returned home just in time to lay Roy Austin down for an hour nap before taking off again for Caleb's house. I had searched all week for a babysitter to watch the kids so I could shop the big consignment sale alone, but I couldn't find one anywhere. I was going to have to take both children with me, which would have been a nightmare. But Jessica's mom volunteered last night to watch Caroline for me! Thank you, Jesus, for Mrs. Stephenson!! So, I baby bjorned it with Roy Austin. Poor thing, he was a trooper. He made it through the entire day with a 1 hour nap:( He was pitiful on the way home from the sale, though, and went to bed with no problem tonight. Good thing he lucked out and hit the jackpot at the sale because that boy deserved a reward.

This consignment sale needs to be a post in itself. It was so chaotic and I had my hands full with the baby, diaper and shopping bags that I couldn't take many pictures. Let's just say that this sale is overly filled with clothes, toys, you name it PLUS about 100 crazy moms looking for a good deal in too tight of space. Here are my friends, Jessica, Elizabeth and Chrystal standing in line with me and my little trooper, Roy Austin. Most people bring laundry baskets to this sale to put their finds in. Speaking of finds, what did Donna find? Hmmmm, let's see....

Roy Austin's own personal Ralph Lauren collection for Spring/Summer 2008.

Denise, here is what I gathered up for Harrison Jack. The 3 and 4Ts were slim pickins'. The plaid shirt is nicer in person. The picture makes it look a little iffy. Hope they tickle your fancy.

And look what I picked up for Roy Austin and his cousin Harrison Jack. Matching John Deere ensembles! My Daddy loves John Deere tractors. I'm envisioning a cute grandson picture with Grandaddy and his tractor this summer. We just need to find shirts now for Danny, Juette and Wyatt.

And could I leave my Caroline out of this shopping spree? Never! Although she didn't need a thing, I happened across this little number last night when I volunteered at the sale and I had to discreetly place it on a certain rack so I could snatch it up today! $5. That's what I paid for it.

So, now my babies are in bed. This post is about to be published and I am off for a hot shower and a night in front of the television all by my lonesome self (wiping away a tear). I miss my husband:(

I love, love, love the Polo stuff. I miss the days when I could dress my boys. A friend of mine passed down about 10 button-down Polo shirts for my boys. Several had matching vests. They won't TOUCH them. They think they are dorky, prep-boy clothes. They get mad at me when they look at their pictures when they were younger and they had on their little outfits with knee-socks and navy and white saddle oxfords. So cute! Those were the days!!!

You did so good at your sale. I love consignment sales. I don't go to them anymore as my boys have gotten older but I will have to start back with Miss Olivia.

Change of subject, I would love that Paula Dean white chili recipe? I love ANYTHING I can cook in a crock pot.

Oh, I almost forgot. Those John Deere outfits are too cute. I bet Uncle LeLand will love those hand-me-downs.

you're right Kristi. Leland would love those JD shirts. too cute.

Looks like you got some good things Donna. I'm sure that WAS exhausting. I always want to give up when there are soooooo many people looking in a small space. It's hard for me to shop like that. Good for your perseverance.

Good goin', Donna. I'm proud of you for getting all those bargains. It's fun, isn't it? Did I train you right or not? Next time there's a big sale like that, maybe Grammy can come down and watch the children so you can go and really enjoy yourself. We'll have to plan on that for sure.
