Playdates and Lunchmates!

Yesterday Caroline and I met our friends Jessica, Caleb and baby Kathryn at the park for a playdate. We thought we'd wait until 4:30 for it to cool off some. Yea, right! It was still steamy and hot. Poor Caroline and Caleb were so sweaty and red and I know that I was pretty sweaty and ready for a shower when we left that park. We had fun, though, and it was good to get the kids together. They hadn't really seen each other all summer, due to our busy schedules. They've been friends since the womb because Jessica and I were pregnant together, so they don't remember a time of not knowing each other! They are definitely buddies and Caroline loves to laugh at how silly Caleb is!

Caleb and Caroline aboard a purple dinosaur. Oh, and Caroline now needs her tennis shoes to play because she says they make her "go fast"!

Then today, we met our friends Hannah, baby AnnaPreston, Suzanne and baby Sarah for lunch at Just Fresh. That place is scrumptious and I truly enjoyed my red rooster wrap...yummy! Hannah and Suzanne both had their first babies this past Spring, so it was nice to catch up with them and see the little girls. Caroline felt like a big girl listening to the three mommies chit-chatting while the babies sat in their carseats and fell asleep. I think in a few years we may have some little girls looking up to Miss Caroline and thinking she is so cool!

So after we left lunch, I took Hannah's advice and went by Trader Joe's to see what the fuss was all about. Roy and I attempted to go there on their opening weekend but it was pure chaos inside and outside in the parking lot, it annoyed us both and we actually got in a little "tiff" due to the craziness! Hannah said they had great prices on organic stuff, so we went. It was 1:00 on a Tuesday...you'd think it wouldn't be busy, right? Wrong. The parking lot there is crazy. Whoever designed it and decided on the genius idea of placing a huge CVS right in the center should seriously get an award for their remarkable planning. Inside was not any better. People were stopping in the middle of aisles, blocking anyone from getting by, and it was very, very crowded. I guess it's just a new trend in Charlotte to go to TJ's. They do have a good buy on organic milk, though. I will just have to figure out the best time to go there and without a 2 and a half year old saying over and over again that she wants a yellow balloon.

Sarah made your post! Caroline has been a busy girl this week with all of her lunch dates. I sure did enjoy getting together today. Let's do again, soon.

Looks like you had fun with the kids. Sarah and AnnaPreston are getting so big! So is Caroline. She looks so big compared to the little ones.
