On Saturday, Roy's cousin, Steven, received his doctorate from a local seminary. He has stayed with us 2 weeks each summer for the past 3 years as he took courses for it. He has been one of our favorite house guest: he's funny, fun to hang out with and he's a clean freak! Roy went to the ceremony and the kids and I met everyone for lunch afterwards.
The glad grad: Dr. Steven Wright, with his graduation gift from us!
Roy with his cousin, Morrow, and her niece, Riggin.
This little boy was just happy to be eating!
Caroline was so enthralled with her cousin, Bell. Can you tell? Nancy, do you like Caroline's dress?!
Sophia, Riggin, Bell and Caroline (still very happy to be with big girls). Steven and Rachel-Ruth have the sweetest, most well behaved little girls.
Afterwards, the kids got to run around outside the restaurant to get all of their wiggles out. They had fun playing "Follow the Leader".
The kids table--always the fun table to sit!
Caroline and Roy Austin really enjoyed their cupcakes:)
Angela came bearing gifts! She makes these cute crocheted washcloths. She sells them, too, so check out her blog for more information. In this picture she's telling my mother-in-law to "bring it on" (referring to the crochet-off she wants to have with her)!!
The Mommies and Daddies (picture taken by a six year old). Hannah and Max, nice prom pose!
Naps needed ASAP!! Check out Will and Wesley wrestling on the couch!

Wow....busy weekend! Cute pictures and so fun that the second cousins got to play and be together. Love you all.
I reckon they are second cousins.......Hummmmm! What would Roy be to them? Meaning Rachel-Ruth and Stephens) That first cousin once removed stuff gets me confused!!!
You had one busy weekend. Thanks again for today. It was alllll great..the peeps...the convo...the food...speaking of, perhaps I should clarify that despite the 7 mnth preggers belly shot, I haven't been holding out on any news of baby #2. Wowsers...Jillian Michaels better pull through fast! :)
Jane Austin, how bout that crochet OFF!!!!
PS-LOL at your tweet re: J&K+8. I second that emotion!
First off, Roy Austin looks like he is about 4 with that big boy haircut!
What a fun gathering, it is always so nice to have people over...and I completely agree with the restaurant thing. That is why we always eat at our house on Mother's Day and Father's day...we always have too many people to get a table without losing control of the kids first!
Looks like it was a great weekend!
Nice weekend Donna. You guys were busy! I'm not kidding...Caroline and Roy Austin are getting so big in those pictures. I miss them!
I'm also glad ya'll got together with Angela and Hannah. I bet that was fun. I love Wil and Wesley wresting on the couch. hahahah!
Oh, and by the way, your cupcakes looked like they turned out better than you said they did. THey look good!
Hostess with the most-ess! We had a great time and loved the burgers!!! You guys went all out. You need to put that mac and cheese on what's for din din.
I'm so embarrassed about the crochet off thing! I know your MIL could whip my toosh! Mrs. Jane, I didn't mean to talk smack to you. I'm good Christian girl, I promise! :)
BTW - you are ON TOP OF THINGS! I couldn't believe you'd already posted a WWU. Hats off to ya.
Man you had a busy Weekend! So fun, that you got to see family! Caroline cracks me up when she gets around little Big girls! she is so happy!
You were one busy girl this weekend! Now, tell me again why they call Charlotte's downtown area uptown? Still don't get that one.
Love the picture of Angela talking smack to Jane. Wouldn't that be hilarious to get a picture of them next to each other crocheting as fast they could? Let's get a date set!
Caroline looks so pretty in her dress and Roy looks adorable shirtless eating a cupcake...so cute.
Glad y'all had fun and have a great week!
Love the recap of your fun filled weekend. Glenn and I love uptown too. Wonderful that you and Roy had a date up there.
Love the photographs of the graduate and family along with your get together yesterday.
I love Angela's threatening face - and I love her apology for talking smack in the comments! haha!!
Also, it's nice to know that someone else is always as busy as we are!! Do you take naps, Donna? I try to grab one any chance I get (but that's also because we stay up super late every night)!!
SMACK!!!!!!!!!! I JUST SMACKED YOU...just teasing! You can make me some too. I am too tired. Ya'll need to be nice to old people! Ya'll going to be old one day and you will see it ain't much fun. One nights rest use to catch me up but now I need a few days.....I thought when I got old I could just sit around and crochet. It's not happening! Maybe you have to be really old for that! I will try and make some though.....maybe this summer!
I think Donna just wants dish rags and she is just trying to stir the pot so she gets some!!!!
WOO!!! Two great posts back to back. You are a diligent blogger, Donna. I loved the last post. So funny!
Now, it looks like you had a fun-filled WWU. Good times, good food, good fellowship...what more could you ask?
RA looks 5 years old in that one picture. He is looking so much like you the older he gets.
I am laughing as I'm reading these comments.
Jane, you are a fiesty little whipper snapper!! Hannah, you are hilarious! You almost had me there.
You did have a busy weekend! Love Caroline in the dress. What mac and cheese did you serve? Inquiring minds need to know.
What a fun weekend!!! The kids are getting SO big Donna. I miss you all!!
looks like a busy and fun weekend. I am laughing at the dishrag show down between Jane & Angela...and Angela calling her Mrs. Jane. too funny.
BTW - the bib that RA has on is the same fabris as my baby bedding. Is that a Jstyle original?
