Well, that is beginning to change. Roy's family is a sports family....when it comes to ASU football, anyway. Cissie, Roy's soon-t0-be-married sister, is engaged to # 47, Corey Lynch...the guy who basically won the game for ASU against Michigan last weekend when he blocked a field goal. Wow! That just rolled off of my tongue! I'm getting good at this football lingo! What is a field goal, anyway?! Last year I actually went to two of the games. I know! It was a big deal for me. I just stood up and cheered when Roy's family did. I had no idea what was going on, but when a player in yellow and black ran towards the ASU goal post, I knew it meant a touchdown, so Yea!! The hot chocolate was good, too. I am the most un-athletic-understanding person in Roy's family. Give me any topic on femininity or "girly-ness" and my knowledge can soar, but when it comes to sports, I am the odd one out in the Graham family.
So, I do know that ASU is playing their second game of the season today, which I am sure they will win. They are going for a third straight season of winning the NCAA Division I Football National Championship. See, I'm learning this stuff. (Well, actually I had to look it up, but I knew it was a championship, at least!) And if last weekend's brutal win was any indication, it may just happen. So, go Corey! We are cheering you on, and if we can make it to any of your home games before the baby comes, we will be there!
Oh, and I can finally send out a congratulations to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Kristy Graham, who are expecting their first little baby on March 21st! Congratulations, you both:)
As you can see, even our offspring isn't into sports. I had to force her to put this cute little cheerleader outfit on to take a picture "for Uncle Corey". I think it's the bright yellow and black combo that scared my fashion-conscious toddler. Don't worry. I AM going to encourage Roy Austin to play sports. He won't be illiterate in that department.
DISCLAIMER****I am not indicating in this post that Roy is "sports stupid". He understands the rules of the games and everything, he's just not obsessed with sports. In fact, he's the one that explains what's going on to me when we go to games. I would hate for anyone to tease him about this blog post. He thinks it's crazy that I have a blog as it is, and he's constantly asking me what I say about our family on it!!****

I was waiting for you to do a post on the App/Michigan game. Carol made me laug out loud. I LOVE the drama w/ her hands on her head...once again, a girl after my own heart!
Sweet Caroline. She's a good sport to get dressed up for her mommy's blog. Yah, with Corey soon to be in the family, you'll really need to get caught up on your football lingo so you'll be able to cheer him on.
I wondered if you would post about Corey's game. Mitchell was watching that game and came asked me what was Cissie's boyfriend's (of course Mitchell never uses the word fiancee) name was. I said I thought it was Lynch- he said Corey Lynch- I said yeah, I think that's right, he said come watch him on TV! Then he used tivo to tape Sports Center interviewing Corey the next day. And don't you know Franklin has trained him well, he said, well first and formost I would like to thank Jesus Christ. Way to Go Corey!!
That picture is SO funny. Hey don't mom and dad have a picture of Dayna, about the same age, standing in a cheerleader uniform crying?????
I don't know. She honestly got SOO mad at me when I had her put it on. She literally didn't want it near her. I don't know if it was the color combo or the polyester fabric. Her feelings were seriously hurt.
Um, I must say that i am proud of your progress in football donna. you are getting so good at it. and to try to get caroline in the cheerleading outfit, takes a dedicated fan! but i am waiting for you to come this year, and roy austin is not a good excuse not to come!
