Two of the sweetest people we know are the Capins. We met them about 3 years ago and have since "adopted" them as surrograte grandparents. Caroline loves them and calls them Grandma and Grandpa Capin (well, actually she calls them the Poopins because she couldn't say Capin at first!). She even calls the fairy godmother on Cinderalla, Grandma Poopin!
This couple has been married for 60 years and they are still so sweet to each other and so obviously in love. They still hold hands when they walk and they tease each other in their conversation. I have told Roy numerous times that I hope we are still like that in 54 years!
Today is Mr. Capin's 83rd birthday and we celebrated it tonight at Bonefish Grill with the Mangums. It was nice to spend time with them, especially since Mrs. Capin has been so sick this summer. Mr. Capin shared some WWII stories and they talked about when they first dated and got married. It's always fun to hear their memories and obtain their wisdom.

That was a sweet tribute Donna. I know they enjoyed celebrating with ya'll. I love Caroline's ketchup face in the last pic! Oh, Carol....
Good post Donna! they really ARE the sweetest couple. I miss seeing them. Mrs. Capin always gets all dressed up and looks so nice.
I need to find some surrogate grandparents up here, or at least a wonderful old couple to glean from. Looks like y'all had fun! Caroline is growing up so fast!
Don Don, don't get me wrong...I love Daddy D and all but it really is time for a new post, honey. I'm starting to memorize the shaping of his eyebrows and the freckles on his face. :)
Daddy D? Hannah, you make me laugh. I can just hear you saying that!
