Yummy Recipe!

If you don't subscribe to Paula Deen's magazine, you're missing out. It's the best $20 spent on a subscription and it makes my day when I go to our mailbox and find it. She has the best recipes in there-- and not all of them are made with butter and mayonnaise:)

I made this Bundt cake the other day and it is still moist, even after a few days. Roy and Caroline loved it (and so did I)! The ingredients sound crazy, but I think it must help with the moisture. Also, the only thing I would do differently next time is add some poppy seeds. This cake tastes just like a delicious lemon poppy seed cake (minus the poppy seeds).

Mountain Dew Cake
1 box lemon cake mix
1 box lemon flavored instant pudding mix
1 (12 oz.) can Mountain Dew Soda
3/4 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
Preheat oven to 325 and lightly grease a Bundt pan. In a large bowl, combine cake mix and pudding mix. Add soda, oil and eggs. Beat at medium speed until smooth. Pour batter into pan and bake for 45-50 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.

THANK YOU, Don Don! Max will LOVE that and it sounds easy. I JUST got back from the grocery but maybe I'll have to venture out again. JR and my parents went to Paula Dean's restaurant in Savannah a couple of months ago and said it was SOOOOO good. The line to get in starts at like 3 pm. Maybe Roy Boy will take you on a field trip there someday soon. Love, Hannie

oh we've been! We went to Savannah on our 2nd anniversary and the restaurant was booked solid all weekend. We could only get in for the Sunday buffet and with a reservation, we still waited in line for 1 hour! Paula Deen is a legend!

Yummy! I am making this as soon as I get to the store. Sounds so good. I might have to check out this Paula Deen magazine. I like alot of the good ol' cooking recipes, not a fan of too much of the fancy stuff. How does her recipes hold up to that?
