Last Friday, the kids and I loaded up the car and headed south to Greenville to visit our friends, the Taylors, for the day. It's hard to believe they moved there almost three years ago--it has flown by! Even though we keep in good touch, it's hard to find times to get together so we decided we were just going to go for a day visit! I'm so glad we did, because they are soon moving to Birmingham:(
The great thing about our families is that Jessica and I were pregnant with each of our children at the same times, so everyone has a playmate. We went to a cute little cafe at the local airport for lunch and had fun catching up while our children played on the playground....and tattled on each other every now and then. After that, we headed to the zoo. The last time we went to the zoo together, Caroline and Caleb looked like this:
Here they are now:
Here are all six of our kiddos...Clayton, Kathryn, Caleb, Charlotte, Caroline and Roy Austin.
One of the funniest things about this trip was to see these two hit it off. Clayton was only a few months old when they moved and Charlotte was still in my belly. They had fun together and a few kisses were given out between them:)
Every time we got a picture of these two, Charlotte would instantly go over and put her arm around this guy:
At the end of our day, the kids were playing on a huge playground near the zoo. I saw that these two were off in the distance playing together. They were playing quietly for a while so I went over to bring them closer to us and I saw them playing a big mud pit. Charlotte had at least taken her sandals off before going in, but her outfit was all muddy on the back from sitting down in it. Clayton was walking around in it and I literally saw his shoes and socks disappear into the muddy water as he walked around. I'm laughing as I type this....it was funny.
It was a great day and we all had so much fun. When we headed out, my three were exhausted...which made for a nice drive home:) We are going to miss being able to see our sweet friends frequently. They hold a special place in our hearts. I need to see how far of a trip it is to Birmingham:)

Looks like Charlotte and Clayton had a really nice time together. It's nice that you were able to meet for the day....and too bad they're moving farther away. I'm sure you'll find a way to get together from time to time, though.
