This past Saturday, the annual dove hunt that these three attend took place. This year the invitation came to "Roy, Caroline and Roy Austin Graham". The latter two were thrilled that they had their names on the list! They could not wait to get their camo on:
| These two have a sweet relationship, but boy, can they argue!! |
| Mr. Harrison is very kind to let them come with their Daddy. This has become a tradition for them and the absolutely LOVE it! (I have to say, I loved my quiet day running errands, cooking and propping my feet up with just one little crumbsnatcher to take care of!!). ____________________________________________________ for the sake of documenting my children's stories, here is one about my precious RoyBoy:
This week the Democratic National Convention is taking place in Charlotte. We live off of a main road that leads right to the heart of uptown (about 12 miles away). So, last week on the way to school I told the kids that this week would be crazy because of the traffic. They asked me why and I told them that Obama was coming to town. Let me explain something really quick...
Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe that when kids ask questions, a parent should answer them in an age-appropriate manner. I never want my children to feel shamed because they asked "too big of a question". A few years ago, I was listening to Focus on the Family and abortion was being discussed. My inquisitive 4 year old Caroline suddenly asked me why people killed babies. I couldn't believe it, but I found myself discussing abortion with her. I just explained that sometimes young girls have babies in their bellies and they aren't ready to become mommies and they get scared and make the wrong decision to get rid of them and it's kind of like throwing babies in the trash. Fast forward to this year's election and Caroline is really interested in it. A few months ago, she asked me if Roy and I had voted for Obama in the last election. I explained why we had not, and that he did not share the same values that we did. She then asked if he thought it was okay to put babies in the trash.....all her brother heard from that conversation was "Obama puts babies in the trash".
SOOO, long story short, last week in the car when I told them Obama was coming to town, Roy Austin got a panicked looked on his face and said, "Oh no! Obama's coming? He's going to throw all the babies away. He's going to put Charlotte in the trash!". Bless his heart! I assured him that that was something that he did not have to even think or worry and that our Charlotte would be safe and never be thrown in the trash:(
Here's to me and all the other moms getting their children to and from school this week in the Queen City! |

Sweet post DJ. Loved that Roy had to take pictures for your blog!! You have him trained! Haha. Good luck this week...I'll be thinking about all the moms headed in the traffic. (and the dads headed to work...what an inconvenience).
Some of my favorite memories were going hunting with my daddy.....I love seeing Roy and Will getting to do this with their children. Thanks for posting the pictures.
Love you all....
