Things That Annoy Me About Shopping at SouthPark Mall on December 20th

I thought I was done with my shopping, and I was very proud of myself. I realized this morning that I had to head to SouthPark Mall to run a quick errand. Lucky for me, I only had my two girls, so I thought it would be a quick in/quick out trip. Hmmm....After being in a huge traffic jam at 1:20 in the afternoon on Sharon Road, I quickly realized that this could be a very bad decision that I made.

1. The parking decks were ALL filled. Even the top of the deck between Belk and Nordstrom (which is never full and where we finally ended up finding a spot).
2. Why is is that the department stores put these huge displays of makeup, jewelry and perfume right in the middle of the aisles right in the front of the mall entrances? It makes for a constant traffic jam and lots of irritable people (especially with strollers).
3. I think adults should have to complete a refresher course on how to walk in public. STAY TO THE RIGHT, people! This is concept learned in kidergarten!!! It annoys me so much when people walk to their left, making you (who are walking to the right) have to get out of the way, or stop...again, while pushing a stroller.
4. People who stroll slowly through the main sections of the mall, seeming to have no cares in the world, while texting. If you're going to text, move out of the way or sit down. Don't be a traffic jammer. And while I'm on this point, families or friends who shop together and walk slowly while in a horizontal line--taking up all the room in the passer-by areas.
5. Children who hang on the stroller handle bar while you're trying to push the stroller, making it harder to push. Yes, I think I said more than 10 times, "Please don't hang on the stroller!".

So, I'm home now and in my comfy clothes. My baby is up in her bed screaming. She missed her nap and she's not about to take one now, my oldest is watching a Christmas Hallmark Movie (she loves them, like her Mommy!!), my sweet boy is playing his heart out at a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party and I promise my bah-humbugness has passed. The Christmas lights are all glowing in the house and I am feeling comforted and joyed:) Merry Christmas!

Girl, I LOVE being home! Everything you just described makes my head hurt and shoulders tense. I did just about all my shopping online in the comfort of my Christmas lights and couch this year. BUT, if I lived in Charlotte and could go to Southpark, I'd be right there with you.
