Our Royal Wedding Experience

When Diana married Prince Charles, I was one year old, so I don't remember it. But, growing up I was in awe of Princess Diana. My mom had a huge coffee table book all about Diana and I remember sitting on the couch so many times and looking through that book just studying her. I loved it! I can remember the exact place I was when I heard that she had died and I woke up at the crack of dawn to watch her funeral. The other day, I realized that Kate Middleton will be to Caroline and her generation what Diana was to me and my generation. She will always know her as a princess and she is at the age where she will remember events that are taking place now. Plus, there is the added bonus that everything princess and happily ever after is Caroline's second language right now! So, I knew that I had to celebrate this wedding and do it up right for our Princess!

I broke out the china and silver for this occasion. On the menu was French Toast with fruit, bacon, juice and a pot of tea. And let me just say that I just about drank (or is it drunk? hmmm.) that entire pot.

Do you like our napkins? They're in honor of the House of Windsor. And I pulled out RoyBoy's Double-Decker bus for a little salute to jolly old England.

I was up at 3:30, but I waited until 5:45 to wake Her Royal Highness. She was tired....

...but when that bride appeared, she piped up!

She had the funniest remarks throughout the wedding. When the Reverend was praying at the beginning, Caroline asked if they were praying to God and I told her yes. She quickly clasped her hands and bowed her head and closed her eyes. It was sweet!! She prayed along with the church the entire wedding! Also, she wondered why "those boys sounded like girls" when the boys choir sang and then she thought it was funny that Prince William had a bald head!

Then this funny boy woke up and he was INTO the wedding! He was all about the pomp and circumstance.

Lady Charlotte of Charlotte. She wore her Cinderella smock today to celebrate the nuptials.

Now, the wedding was definitely worth celebrating, but we had another reason to celebrate April 29th, too. Today is the 10th anniversary of the day that my own Prince asked me to marry him! That was a gorgeous Spring day back in 2001. I can't believe it's been 10 years!

It was a wonderful and memorable morning for this house! We will never forget it! Best Wishes to the new Royal couple!!

Only you Donna! I am glad that you made this memorable for Caroline. She will never forget it and will be talking about it when Will and Kate's babies get married.

Pomp and Circumstance is EVERYWHERE this morning. Call me crazy...or stupid...but I don't get it?

Only you Donna is right! I don't know where you get your energy to do stuff like this but Caroline will never forget it. That's nice!
I'm with Denise, I don't get it either. I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer but aren't they just people just like us? Okay, maybe "royals" but still...I don't get it. I am happy for them though. Hope they have a long and happy marriage but time will tell!

In your "spare" time, you should really think about contacting some of the major networks to give them ideas. Their reality shows grow old so quickly. Your love and creativity continue to flow, event by event, year by year. They'd be fortunate to have you as a "consultant" and we would all reap the benefits with delightful tv! Great Royal Memories with the Grahams!

I'm trying to breeze through your blog and get caught up but I had to stop here to say how ADORABLE that little Charlotte in her Cinderella dress is! The dress was so perfect for the day. I hope you got to go out and have others see her in that!
What a fun memory you made with your little princess. I'm sure she will remember it forever.
