Sassy Girl
The other day when I met Denise in Greensboro to drop off Maddie, baby Jane had on the cutest little outfit. We were sitting in a little cafe talking for a little bit and I kept noticing Caroline staring at her outfit and playing with her tu-tu skirt. Denise told me she bought the skirt at Target so I told Caroline we'd go look to see if they had it in her size once we got back home. Well, the WHOLE WAY HOME she mentioned that skirt and those shoes.
We found the black tulle skirt at Target for $9.99. The converse tennis shoes were a little harder to find. Gap Kids used to sell them but not any more! They HAD to be pink (just like Jane's). Dillards carries them, so tonight we went and bought a pair and she was SO giddy. She thanked me over and over and told me she was so happy to have them:) She has worn the skirt/shirt two days in a row now and she asked me tonight if she could sleep in it. I told her maybe we could wear it for the first day of TK.
This is the first time Caroline has ever been so excited about a certain outfit. It's so funny how girls are so into clothing by nature. The only downfall, the skirt doesn't have built-in bloomers...a must. My pet peeve is when little girls don't wear bloomers and you can see their panties. Well, I ordered a cute pair of black ones on Ebay with tulle ruffles in the back! This skirt will be cute for October and Halloween, too! So, thank you, Jane-Jane for your fashion expertise. Who would've thought a 21 month old would be such a trend setter?!

I LOVE IT!!!!! Caroline looks sooo happy....and so cute in the outfit. You're right about girls and fashion. They just seem to gravitate to that. Well, I'm glad Caroline got the outfit like Jane's. Did she sleep in it?
This is so funny! You can tell by her face that she LOVES her outfit all the way down to her shoes. How cute! That's funny that she wanted to be like Jane. She looks so cute Donna!
I read this post to Daddy, and showed him the pictures. He loved it, too, but the first thing he said when he saw that picture of Caroline...."She looks JUST like Donna!!"
Caroline DOES look just like you Donna--I think it is the pony tails--that you always wore as a child!
I tell you what, that Jane Jane has some stylist! :) Both Margaux and Jane have the same outfit that Jane Jane wore the day you saw us.
I agree about the bloomers. Did you get those ones you told me about a few months ago--from Hong Kong? Those are great. You will love them and want more!
We have that skirt in pink and black! LOVE it! Caroline looks adorable in her favorite outfit. We are big fans of pink and black around here (Kate's nursery was pink and black). She had the pink Chuck Taylors last year, but I have yet to buy them--or any fall shoes--for this year. I need to get on that. :o) Target carries them, although they are usually not with the other children's shoes--they are on the other end of the shoe department.
The first thing I noticed is how grown up she looks in that outfit with those shoes!! You can tell she's so proud. Okay, I REALLY want a pair of those shoes. They're ADORABLE!!!
A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! You can tell Caroline is so excited! What a sweet picture. My vote is "yes" on the first day of TK and being able to wear it to sleep!!
So cute! I might have to run to Target myself. I loved the last several posts. You've been a busy girl. Now, I am jealous that Maddie got her picture with Paw-Paw.....if only....if only.....(sniff and tears falling)
Donna, Caroline looks so mature in those photographs and lovely. I can't believe my boys start school this week. This summer has gone so quickly! Love to you.
She is so cute.....even if she one of mine!!!! Love you and miss you and hope you are feeling well.
I remember the first time I loved an outfit so completely. I was a little older than Caroline though. I wore it to school and at the bus stop a dog with muddy paws jumped up on me. I cried all the way to school and they had to call my mom when I got there. She brought me home and washed it for me! Such a memory.
She looks just as cute as can be. Sometimes the funniest little things let our kids know we love tham so much. :)
