Frog and Toad

You know how you can live a city for a long time but never take part in the cultural or tourist-y activities that go on in it? Well, my friend, Elaine (who knows all the kid-friendly activities in Charlotte!!), recently invited a bunch of mommy and children friends to join her and her kids in seeing the play, Frog and Toad, in uptown Charlotte. We hardly ever venture uptown and I realized today how much more we need to do it! Nine of us moms and 14 children met this morning to see the play and it was great! We were all pretty shocked by how "Broadway-like" it was!

Caroline and Caleb before the show started. They were excited!!

Caroline in front of part of the Queen City Skyline. Every time we see any part of the skyline while driving around town she'll say, "I was born there! And RoyBoy, too!!".

Some of the kids after the show on the theater steps. Most of the moms of these kids started a Bible study together almost 6 years ago. When it started, only 3 of us were barely pregnant. Since then MANY kids have been born!!

Today was a beautiful day--so breezy and nice! The theater had huge pillars out front and the kids had fun climbing on them, too:

After the play, some of us ventured to Brixx Pizza uptown. The kids were all so good, but got a little rowdy during the last 5 minutes as the moms were signing all the bills. One man sitting at a booth behind us asked me to "get the kids out of there". Nice, huh? He was dead serious.

So, my goal is to take the kids to more of these little shows. RoyBoy had a babysitter today, but Caroline truly enjoyed it! I can't wait for Mary Poppins in August!!

What a great outing! And Caroline is so sweet! I love that she says, "I was born there..." I was looking for RA2 in the pictures.

Hey I met a girl last weekend from Charlotte. She was very sweet and after we talked for awhile I told her "you are totally Charlotte!"

BTW, she goes to your church and her children go to Weeschool. It was Jay's SIL.

Nice DJ! I'm so glad you get to do these kind of outings! And how neat that the kids are "growing up" together!

I'll see you tomorrow...can't wait!

Okay, I tried commenting several times last night and it wouldn't let me. Basically I was saying that I'm so glad you're taking advantage of what your city has to offer. That's so good and I also think it's so sweet that Caroline will always be proud of where she was born. So sweet! I used to be proud of Gainesville too! hahaa
Caleb and Caroline look so big in that pic. They are growing up.
Can't wait to see you all today.

Early prediction: RoyBoy will be calling it "Mary Poopins" when August rolls around!

By the way, I've read all your posts but have been too lazy to actually come to your blog and post a comment. You've made me lazy by sending your post to my email. :) But don't stop because I love getting them! In fact, sure wish those other Reber girls would add me to their email list...HINT, HINT!!

What a fun day and what a cute group of kids. How southern do they all look? All the little girls have bows in their hairs...so funny.

Don and I were actually in Charlotte this past Sat/Sun. We did a very cultural, classy thing...went to Carowinds.
