We Made It!

Well, I am currently sitting in a hotel room in Gorlice, Poland! We arrived safely to the airport and then had a 3 hour drive to where Roy is located. One of the employees at Samaritan's Purse came with me over here and we had a lot of laughs on the way. We were waiting for our luggage at the luggage claim in Krakow and we just started laughing. It was -11 degrees outside, snowing and we were in POLAND?! All we can do is laugh. When we pulled up to our hotel, I turned to her and said "home sweet home":)

I got to see Roy tonight and he was very happy to see me. I think he is a little down just because of the entire situation. The hospital is very friendly and as clean as it can be, but it is still a sad experience to see him there. His room is very bare with nothing to do and he is just laying there in bed. He was very fortunate to get a private room, so we are happy about that. He has been up walking three times today and I told him that each day it will get easier and less painful. He is trying his best to recover. He wants out of here and I don't blame him. Please continue to pray for his recovery and for his spirit. I was a little depressed just being there for the 2 hours I was!! He misses the children terribly and said the thought of now being there with them for Christmas kills him. Okay, I'm tearing up just typing that!! UUGH!! I have to keep reminding myself that this timing is all for a reason and it will all be fine.

I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow and post when I can. I think Deanna (the girl I'm with)_ and I get to go do an Operation Christmas Child distribution tomorrow, so that will be fun. Good night!

I am so so so glad you went! It is so easy for us Mommys to put our kids and their needs so far above those of our husbands! We worry leaving them (and I STILL do now that mine are big!) but they are usually just fine-let's face it, they are better than fine-when we are away from them!

I can't imagine the peace that flooded over Roy when his beautiful wife walked through the door! You PROVED you would follow him to the ends of the earth!! xoxo

We'll keep praying here. Specifically that God will allow Roy's recovery to be speedy enough to make it home before Christmas!

Amen Inger! Good comment and SO TRUE! Donna, you're a good girl and you've handled this whole thing so well! I know Roy loves having you there with him and I'm betting he'll be a lot better in no time.
Keep keeping us posted!

Donna, I have been praying so hard for you guys and will continue to do so. I am praying that he will make it home for Christmas.

In the meantime, you have such a positive outlook and it is good that you can still laugh. I also know you....you will come up with some might fine posts out of all of this because you are the Queen Blogger. That is really neat that you get to do an OCC project.

THanks for the update. I agree with Momofgirls completely - I am sure he will recover MUCH faster with you there. And I'm so happy you are going to be able to do a Operation Christmas Child distribution - always thinking of others, that you are!!

I am praying that you and Roy will both be back in the US of A by Christmas! God bless you!
