Roy is going to be released at 11:00 tomorrow morning (4:00 EST), God willing. I've been saying that the past few days because I was reading in James to Roy the other day and read the verse that warns of saying "tomorrow we will do this, etc...but instead we need to say 'if the Lord wills". What a lesson:) So, God willing, we will be on a plane out of Krakow, Poland with the wheels up at 4:30 PM tomorrow afternoon. We have a small drive to the airport first but we will then take a straight flight into Chicago where we will take the flight to NC. Yes, this is supposed to all happen on December 23, so we are praying for no delays or bad weather!! We will see.
Roy had the best day yet, today. He looked great, and acted SO much like himself. Actually, it was a very boring day with just sitting around and waiting. At 11 am, Roy started the 24 hour countdown on his phone:) I know he was bored because when I went back to the hotel at lunch to start packing up, he called me two times just to talk. So, I went back over and he appeased me by watching Elf with me. I love that movie! He's a little annoyed that all I brought over was Christmas movies to watch.
It will feel so good to wake up (again, God willing) on Thursday morning and see our childrens' faces. Ironically, Roy Austin misses me the most. I figured Caroline would have a harder time, but Jane says that RoyBoy asks about me a lot. Talk about breaking a mommy's heart! I can't wait to hug them.
I'll update next time when we are in Boone. Again, thank you for all the prayers. A local pastor and his wife who do work with Samaritan's Purse came to Roy's room tonight to pray for him. They said they had their entire church praying for Roy's recovery. It is so humbling to know how many people all over the world have been and are praying for him. How awesome (Denise, the word is appropriate!!) and how very, very kind. Thank you so much. We are so blessed!

The word awesome is indeed appropriate for this situation! Yipppeeee Ky Yay He Hoooo is too! Such good news! Woooohoooo!
By the way ---inside joke to everyone else--way to take my advice and read to Roy...I can just see you now...
It's been a good reminder of how our plans don't matter. God is ALWAYS the one in charge. You're a good girl Donna and I'm glad you've allowed God to teach you during this situation.
Okay, enough of the serious stuff. I bet you're so excited to see your kids. That's Christmas enough right there. I would love to see their reactions when they see you both. Very sweet! (Sniff, sniff)
God willing, we'll see you all very soon! :) hee hee
Girl, I gave her the same advice! I actually told her to pull out the Bible and read. Looks like she took MY advice!
Standing CLAPPING, CLAPPING, Donna! Will be praying for you all the way home -- I agree with Dolly, I bet there will be some sweet tears when your children see you :). Merry Christmas!!
You Reber girls and your inside jokes. It keeps me up at night. LOL!
Donna, I could not be happier for you. What an incredible answer to prayer. This is something you will have to journal about and share with your children when they get older. It also would make a great Hallmark movie. HA! Maybe I should submit the idea. Roy wouldn't mind, would he?
YAY!!!!! Merry Christmas!!!
Auntie Donna, I can't wait to see you I miss you and I'm glad uncle Roy is Ok.
Merry Christmas!
"Holiday Hoobie Whattie?"
Maddie:)
Yippee!! I will be praying THAT IT IS God's will for you two to be back home in time for Christmas! What a sweet celebration that will be. You and Roy have made some special memories during this time and you will look back on them fondly (I have never used that word before..)
Scott and I talk about the time Lindsay was in the hospital out of town and we really think that trying time sealed our relationship in a special way!
I am so glad Roy's recovery has been so speedy!! We will continue in prayer, and now for safe travels too!
Yahooooo! This song comes to mind.... "I'll be home with bells on!" I think Kenny & Dolly sing it, as in Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton. Yes, it's a great Christmas CD that my sister-in-law loves. :O) Merry Merry Christmas! Glad you'll be home!
I've been following on FB, but great news - let us know when you are in the States! God is good!
Donna - along with all the others who love you guys - I have been praying for your family.
