I think I need to explain today's love song choice. It's the theme from the movie Somewhere in Time. This movie is such a good one--very romantic and a chill giver. And the music in it is so pretty. I even have the soundtrack! My sisters and I watched this movie all the time growing up. Roy even likes it. In fact, I would love for us to watch it tonight but DOLLY has my copy! Anyway, it's an excellent movie where the quotes "Come back to me" and "RICHARD!!!!" will reel you in. Apparently WGN will be playing it twice on V-Day. I didn't realize until recently that there is such a cult following of this movie, so go here to learn more about the storyline and more about the fan club. It's even going to be turned into a Broadway show, soon. Reber sisters and Mom, do you want to go to NYC to see it? Could be a fun girls get-away?!

YIKES!!!! I didn't realize I had your copy! I'll get on that right away. After I get Leland to watch it with me tonight, I'll put it in the mail to you tomorrow. Sorry about that!
Yes, this is a great movie. Thanks for the reminder. And YES, I'M IN for a NYC getaway to see this on broadway. I'm sure it will be a tear jerker. I can just hear Dayna sniffing now. hahaha
By the way, this movie was back when Jane Seymore wasn't so desperate and was sweet and innocent.
Seriously, this is probably one of my all time favorite movies ever! I get chills just thinking about it. And the music...so good. It was one of the few movies we were allowed to watch growing up so maybe that's why I like it so much. :)
I have NEVER seen this movie. Consider it rented.
What movie is this from?:
2 people walking around a movie store, one is telling his favorite movies and scores and he says: "this score is brilliant, it comes from another place, I can't even explain..." then she says "rented".
I have a hard time watching movies where the actors are dead. I know, that's totally weird. But I like to picture them and if they're dead, it's harder. But, I'll give this one a shot.
ooo, ooo! Pick me, pick me! I know the answer!!! THE HOLIDAY! Another great movie. Maybe we'll watch that tonight instead.
Angela, you'd love Somewhere in Time. Right up your alley.
First, NYC, YES!!!
Second, when we were younger and would watch this I remember thinking to myself, "Can you ACTUALLY go back in time?" I know I know, duhhhh! I was slow back then, but not now--I all growed up!
Angela--I have no clue but I am guessing When Harry Met Sally? It just sounds like a Billy Crystal(sp??) line.
Ahhhhh The Holiday---hated that movie. That was one of those movies that I walked away from mad that I wasted my time watching it. Danny felt the same way.
Oh, I LOVE The Holiday!! How can you think it was a waste of time? That is one movie I can watch over and over again and still love it! There are so many great lines and Jack Black is GREAT in that movie!
Yeah, you're right. I mean there are a couple of things in there that aren't good and would NEVER happen in real life. But it turns out to be a sweet movie. Angela, back me up here. The Holiday is one of your faves, too:)
Denise, don't cringe. It's no biggie.
Ah man! I feel like a bigger loser now. I actually (embarrising to admit) have Angela's copy of the Holiday too. Girls, are you in conspiracy with this post? Anyone else who may think I have one of their dvd's may as well chime in. hahahah! Tomorrow, I'll have TWO DVD's out in the mail. Sorry girls!
Love,
Loser
YES to NYC!!
Dolly, I think you have my complete DVD set of Little House on the Prairie. Go ahead and get that back to me when you get a chance. If you lost it, just go ahead and buy me a replacement and get it to me at your earliest convenience.
Ah, I really AM a loser! Kristi, you just reminded me that I have Season One of the "Little House on the Prairie" of my sister Dayna's that I need to return.
Denise, now my conscious is getting to me. I know The Holiday has some sketchy scenes. And I don't agree with anyone doing "you know what" with a complete stranger, but mmmmm, when Jude Law is in the kitchen the next morning and puts on his cute little glasses. Whooo.
Donna, Jack Black is ADORABLE in that movie.
Alright, don't get me started on The Holiday again. We all remember what happened last time. It consumed my email for a day!
Dolly, no worries. I bought another copy. Consider it a gift. In a round-a-bout way. :)
Now that I think of it, Dolly, when you left Charlotte I think you took a couple of my DVD's with you. I'm missing some pilates DVDs. What is it with you and DVD's???
I have never even heard of this movie. May have to Tivo it for valentines.
Love the new blog makeover. When I first clicked over to your blog, I thought I had the wrong blog.
For some reason this movie reminds me of Steve Turcheon - hahaha. I think he liked it or something. Anyway, I think it's a sweet movie, but it depresses me! Oh, I love the sippy cups in your other post and definitely will order one.
Dolly, are you a klepto? I'm trying to think if you were ever near my purse at your baby shower that I came to... :)
I LOVE Th Holiday too (but don't tell my Father in law...one time I rented The Wedding Planner for the girls on staff at camp to watch one night, thinking "oh,yes, clean, cut, entertaining"..and my FIL was like..Oh, well the whole premise of the movie is her falling in love with SOMEONE ELSE"S Fiance...oops!!)
Anyway, I have never seen Somewhere in Time..weird, huh? Maybe I can rent it this summer for the girls!!
My youngest daughter is HOPELESSLY addicted to The Brady Bunch right now..she got the entire series for Christmas..we watch an episode almost every night, oh, memories! (and believe me it is CLEAN!_
*cute
Donna, I just posted my blog gift and I didn't know how to get it over to the swap site.
Will definitely watch the movie.
Love ya.
I, too, love Somewhere in Time and the music in it. Dolly, you have me in stitches about the movies people have loaned you and you admission to having them in your home - too funny!
Girl, we watched the movie last night and my stupid dvd player acted up on us and we never finished the end. So we don't know how it ends. I forgot since it's been a while since I've watched it but Leland liked it. It's in the mail today.
I will have to look for this on TV - I've never seen it.
BTW - I like your blog banner - been meaning to tell you that - really good!
