For LOST Fans Only:

I was talking to my friend, Caroline, briefly this morning about LOST. We are both big fans of the show and we were discussing what we think is happening on it. I have to admit that the season premier was pretty bad, but it has picked up greatly since. I am so addicted to this show and each episode gets better. So, here are some of my thoughts. Please feel free to weigh in on your thoughts and what direction you think the show is going...

-I think Daniel Fahrety is a bad guy. He's a little strange and has too many random connections to the island. Plus, his mom (if that is who she is) is creepy!!

-I think the old lady (Daniel's possible mom) is Jacob. Maybe?

-I think Ben doesn't like Daniel. Did you see his face last week when Desmond asked him if he was going to see Daniel Fahrety's mother, too? He was upset. Plus, Charles Wentworth financed Daniel's projects, and Ben and Charles are enemies. Hmmm.

- I HOPE Desmond doesn't go back to the island, but you know he will. I like him and Penny and their son just sailing the ocean in private. Remember when Penny foreshadowed going back to the island a few weeks ago asking him to promise her that he would never go back to the island? He's going.

-I think there is some type of Biblical comparison to the whole island storyline. Maybe I'm a little far out, but I can't help thinking of the comparison of "Jacob" being this big revered being and Jacob in the Bible as being the "Father of Israel". The Israelites wandered in the desert looking for the Promised Land and these people are just wandering around on the island. I don't know. I am probably way off, but I just can't help but think there is a big picture that will probably be so obvious when we all find out.

-What is up with Danielle killing her husband? And why was he acting different once he came out of that old temple? And how did Ben get her daughter and raise her? Oh the anticipation is killing me!!

-Who is that creepy leader (his name has slipped my mind) of the Others that never ages. You know the guy with the dark eyes and dark colored skin? The guy that visited John as a child. He gives me the willies.

-Call me crazy, but I kind of like Ben! His strange personality and his eyes make me laugh. He used to really give me the creeps but now he makes me laugh.

Anyway, those are just some of my thoughts. I would LOVE to attend a LOST group meeting to discuss this show. For now, this blog will have to do. Please give your input. If you are not a LOST fan, sorry.

WHOA!!!! Sounds to me like one big soap opra. I remember seeing the very first show a few years ago when the plan originally crashed on the island. I think I may have seen one or two shows after that, but that's all. Looks like things have really gotten complicated since then. I'm kind of glad I didn't continue watching or I would be hooked, like you!! Right now I'd rather be hooked on Doug or Richard Becker. Crazy, huh??!!

Ok - you have some really good opionions about what is going on. It is really interesting each week as they reveal more and more about the island and the characters. I agree with you that Daniel is a bad guy. He is starting to get creepy too and it just doesn't make sense. I don't think that he ever ages either! It will be interesting to see how they all make it back to the island tonight. It is possible that Daniel's mom is Jacob, but I think that it is Jack's dad that is Jacob. Don't know though. You made some interesting points about it all possibly being Biblical in some way. Who knows? That's the first time I had thought about that though. I am just ready to find out some answers. It just keeps getting weirder and weirder ~ yet so intriguing!

Oh Donna I am so excited to see the show tonight. The ageless wonder is Richard. I think he is handsome except the heavy eyeliner he has on the show is kind of strange, and weird that he never ages and has been there for everything. It is like he is part of the island and always was there and always will be.

I, too, don't want Desmond to head back to the island. Penny was in pain for so long and it appears she will lose him again.

I never saw the first season and need to get those on DVD. I got hooked after that and it is the only show I don't ever want to miss!

Oh Donna, a good hot beverage and an episode of LOST is what the doctor ordered for me tonight (laughing)!

WHEW! Donna, how can you recap all those detials so well? I have been watching from the very first episode and LOVE LOST. However, I am quickly getting tired of all the new plots, twists and turns. They never answer one question before moving on to a new twist and it is really starting to DRIVE ME NUTS. I can hardly keep up anymore. I know that it is part of the whole plan to lure you back in every week, but it is getting old.

BTW - there is a Christian book that was written about the biblical comparisons in LOST. I can remeber the name of it? So, you are not far off.

Got nothin on Lost.

But, if anyone wants to talk about the deepness of The Bachelor then ring me up!

Momofgirls said...

Jennifer..funny about The Bachelor! Who DO you think he will choose..and what about Deanna???

Donna...I WISH we could watch Lost together! I think I am getting more confused, but then I like the backtracking- it is explaining a lot!

Daniel's Mom is so creepy!

I agree with Jessica that Jack's Dad is Jacob-but how???!!! and can you believe Claire is Jack's sister??

and how weird, I am starting to think that Ben is GOOOOD-but he is still a weirdo!

I am so happy that I mad a double diner last night so we are having left overs, doing HW and getting the girls to bed early, so I can watch in peace-gotta pay close attention!!

David and I are right there with you. We're convinced that whatever the writers are smoking, must be good stuff, considering all the twists and turns the plot has taken over the past few years. I think a lot of this could be cleared up if Ben would just be honest and tell what he knows....but then maybe he doesn't know anything...and then again, if he did we might not watch so religiously!

By the way, isn't creepy guy's name Richard? He is one weird dude. :)

Hi Donna,
Now I'm not a huge Lost fan, but I watch it with Jeff. Know what occurred to me tonight...Do you think it's a coincidence that Jack's last name is Shepherd? Hmmm...
Missed you at Kristin's shower! Hope everyone's feeling better.

I love Lost!! It is so addicting! I am starting to like Ben more too, but I still do not trust him. I mean he could have cared less about those innocent people on the plane getting ready to die or be stuck on the island. I am still trying to figure out how Hurley and Sayid ended up on the plane?? I agree Daniel F. is creepy!! Something wierd there with him and his mom.

Momofgirls said...

so did Hurley buy all the seats on the plane so no one else would have to crash?

Why were there a few additional people on the plan?

What on earth happened to Aaron????? (Kate was sooo upset!)

Is Charlie coming back since he drowned saving everyone a while ago??

UUUGGGHHHHHH! You CAN NOT even fold laundry when you watch this show!!

Donna said...

Good point, Elaine! I never thought about that before.

Inger, you are so right. When you watch Lost, you have to watch with your full attention. If you even look away for a second, you miss something. Last night's show was so confusing. Where is Aaron??? How did Sayid and Hurley find out about the plane. What was up with Ben and all the blood? Uggh! So confusing. Oh, and that Asian guy who gave his condolences to Jack in the airport line...something is up with him.

I LOVE Lost! We've been watching since the very first episode years ago! So addicting!
I don't know if Daniel is a bad guy, but maybe he was used or pressured into doing things that he didn't want to do?
I do not think his mom is Jacob, though. We played back that one scene when Lock visited Jacob and we "froze" on the scene where they briefly flashed Jacob and it was Jack's dad!
There is definitely some tension between Ben and Daniel, though!
I also agree w/you on the biblical comparison. Especially when Ben was talking about "Thomas the profit" (although I do not remember that story in the Bible??)
I have always liked Ben, myself. Not in a good way...just the bad guy you love to hate, way!
Why was he covered in blood? My husband thinks he killed little Aaron! I say NO WAY! But, what DID happen to him? And what will become of Sun's baby? Why are these mothers "OK" with leaving their babies??!!!

Donna said...

oooooo, Toni. I didn't think of that. I wonder if Ben did kill Aaron? Did you see Kate's face when Jack came home to his apt. and found her? She looked really scared and shocked. And Ben was the one trying to take Aaron away from Kate, too. Hmmmm. Food for thought!!

WOW! I'm so glad I don't watch this show. I would be addicted and so confused all at the same time. Who in the world is creative enough to write the story line? Man!

Rose said...

okay...quit watching Tv and come by and get your award. ha!
and like i told your sisters if you don't have time to do it, it won't hurt my feelings :)

Momofgirls said...

WHY would Be kill Aaron??
WHO is taking care of Sun's baby?
I thought they said that everyone had to come back to the island, wouldn't that HAVE TO include the babies?

I don't get how or why Jack's Dad is Jacob....or even involved with the island, but it is interesting that he is Claire's father too..Hmmmmmm
