Don't Call Me Mother Hubbard

This past weekend was Triples. Again. I think Harris Teeter is looking for customers with all of the recent Triples Weekends they've been having !! So, here is what I bought. The totals are a little higher than normal, but I had to buy some things that I didn't have coupons for (chicken, milk, bread, fruit, etc). Three trips on Friday morning gave me this:

All kinds of items from laundry detergents and softeners, cereal, toilet paper, bacon, rolls, Gerber Graduates, Cake mixes, Salsas....

I spent a total of $54.17 and saved $117.21.

The sale ends on Sunday and of course this morning, the Sunday paper came out with a whole new set of coupons. After scouring the coupon pages and adding others I had, one more Harris Teeter trip got me this:

Grands Biscuits, Paper Towels, Cough Drops, Toilet Paper (you can never have enough), Yogurt...

I spent $17.57 and saved $35.56. Roy is going on a big trip tomorrow and I got him some Wet Wipes and some toothpaste for FREE! That saved me a trip to Target. I also got the pretzel rods for free, too, which I'll use for making Caroline's Valentine's Day Teacher gift (thank you, Nikki). I'm also getting back into Harris Teeter Mystery Shopping, which I did on this trip, so I'll be getting some money back soon.

Couponing seriously can become an obsession. I had to tell myself to "get over it" after I discovered that I lost two valuable coupons for Mueller's Pasta this weekend. I think I washed them in my sweatshirt pocket. Seriously, the thought made me mad. I could have gotten 4 boxes of spaghetti for free.

Way to go...you really have got me hooked too. I was in the store and lost my coupon which would have given me a great chapstick...I was irritated for a few minutes - crazy I know!

Okay, so I'm very impressed with the money you save on these triple coupon weekends, but what I'm REALLY impressed with is that you take both children with you!!! Do they really just sit there quietly (or sing) or do you bribe them with, say a lollipop?

When I saw the title of your post I thought you had lied to us about you being "jussssst fine" with two children...thought it had something to do with another baby, but NO, just wishful thinking on my part. :)

Great job, Donnie! I think you and Carolina Clipper need to go in on a bunker so you have a place to store this stuff and go when the economy and the rest of this country crashes. Gosh, I sound like a walking Debbbie Downer. :)

Donna, you dun good! You don't worry about that pasta at all. In fact, I will send you the money for the pasta if that will help you get over losing that coupon. It's going to be OK, honey, you'll get it next time. (Take deep cleansing breaths)

I still don't know how you do it!! On Friday I went and spent $56 and saved $30...of course I had to buy things as well that weren't on sale but only saved $30. Guess a savings is a savings...

I am jealous! Wish we had a HT. You have inspired me to start clipping and I have done it for 2 weeks now, even though our Kroger only doubles them and only up to $1 but it is still a savings. I dont think our paper has the same coupons yours does, they arent as good. Or do you get them from other places online? Because I never get coupons for the good stuff I always see you buying.
