And That's a Wrap: Halloween 2008!

Today we made our annual stop by Roy's office to pass out our Halloween cookies we made. Dorothy was having a rough morning, but perked up when someone gave her a Tootsie pop. She also perked up seeing "Grandma Capin", also known to Caroline as the "fairy godmother":
Can't you just imagine her saying "bibbidy, bobbidy, boo!"?! Someone also gave my one-year-old a sucker and before I could grab it, it was in his mouth. Next thing I knew, the wrapper was off and there was pink, sticky juice all over his mouth and hands. Nice.
The sugar must have made them a little on the hyper side because as we ate our lunch in the dining room, my two ended up under the table wrestling while Norah watched:
Suzanne and Sarah the ballerina were also there for lunch:
We got home in time to take a nap before we left for our neighborhood's Trick-or-Treat kick off Pizza Party. Caroline was very excited (Denise, notice the "Clifford" book that she took possession of):

After we were pizza'd out, we came home to get ready to go trick-or-treating. But first, we needed a sweater because once that sun went down, there was a definite nip in the air. It was at this point of the day that our Puppy was starting to hit a wall:

Our neighbors came over to walk around the block with Roy and Caroline while Roy Austin and I stayed home to pass out candy. Here is Emilie, Roy Austin, Dylan and Caroline:Here is where my evening got exciting. I went into the kitchen and returned to the foyer to see this deer caught in the headlights:
Yep. He reached his little hand into the candy bowl and pulled out a 3 Musketeer and chewed that thing silly...

I think he liked it.

He liked it, a lot! Notice the chocolate on my chair:(

So, Halloween 2008 is over. The good news is I managed to pass out all of the Butterfingers, Twix, 3 Musketeers, Milk Duds and M&Ms so I wouldn't end up eating them. The bad news is Caroline returned with a bucket of candy! We also only managed to have one set of smart-alick teens come through. Dolly, I missed your assistance in dealing with them! Have a good, sugar-filled weekend!! I'm already feeling a little sick.

Cute Donna! I am glad you got out and about today to show Caroline and Roy Boy off. They sure are some cuties!

Did the other package come today?

Donna, You are TOO funny....I just love reading your blog and watching your sweet family grow and do life. :) How could you even be upset with Roy Austin and that sweet Musketeer face grinning?!!? haha --go to bed and get a good night's sleep - you deserve it. BTW --we use to take the kids candy and when they were sleeping, we'd put it in a freezer bag and freeze some of it for later. They loved getting "halloween treats" for snacks in November.

Cute post, Donna! I loved the picture of the children wrestling under the table at BGEA. The next best was little Roy eating that candy bar. Now that he's got his taste of sugar, nothing's going to stop him....not even a wrapper!! I'm glad you had a nice day. We didn't have one trick or treater.....only the Renalds children when they came over with Dayna and Dawn to show us their costumes. I had some good stuff to give out, too! Oh well, I guess we'll have to make use of that stuff somehow. Thanks for the very interesting post.

Love the Dorothy costume. Where did you get it? It is so nice. And I think someone else said it on another post, but I would like to know what Roy thought about Roy boys tights.

Dont you love the smart-alick teens. we had 2 moms half dressed up that walked up to the door with their kids and stuck out thier own bag to get candy. WHAT?!?! Luckily Mark was at the door for that one or I might have caught myself saying something rude.

Good recap! I loved seeing all your pictures and your kids looked great! I love the picture of RA eating his candy bar.

I missed being your assistant with the smart aleck teens too. I had fun commenting on the kids outfits at Joy's house too but you were missed because I feed off you. I was pretty nice last night.

Your children are just adorable. It's funny I saw so many girls in Dorothy costumes last night. I was really surprised. Caroline was definitely the cutest though!

Mna, good thing RA turned one, just in time! He looks like he was in heaven with all that sugar. Look on the bright side...at least 3 musketeers are low fat! Thats what I use to tell my guilty conscience!
