I DID IT!

For $12 more a month, our house now gets FOX NEWS!!!!! I finally broke down and just ordered the new package from Dish Network. I heard that Elisabeth (we're on a first name basis, now) is going to be on Mike Huckabee's new Fox News show on Sunday night, and that just did it for me. I'm not going to tell Roy. Tonight when he gets home, I'm going to have Fox News playing the top stories of the day. Happy Anniversary, sweet boy!

Good for you! Now you won't be AS discusted when you're watching the news. That was a good move to pay the extra $12.00 a month.

Speaking of Elizabeth...Dayna and I were talking yesterday and she had a good prediction about her. She predicts that Elizabeth will soon leave the View and go work for Fox News as a news anchor/reporter. I can see her doing that and she did do some reporting for Fox news during the RNC. If that's the case, I won't be watching the View anymore.

Dayna said...

Good move Donna. It is so worth it!! Yep, that's my prediction.

Unknown said...

You deserve it, sweet girl, with ALL of those great coupon savings! Way to splurge! Enjoy my fav...SHEP. Me and Shep are on a 1st name basis. :)JUST kiddin but I really do like his voice. Move over BC, Shep is better ANY day! :)

Jennifer said...

Girls, girls...I'm getting concerned over the type of men you think are "all that"...first Bill Clinton and now Shep?!? I thought he played for the other team if you know what I mean.

Donna, good move on getting Fox before the election. It will ease the pain a little. I didn't know Mike Huckabee was getting his own show - definitely add that to my list.

By the way, Donna, I thought you would be all over the latest People news re: Clay GAYKEN!!!

Donna said...

First of all, was it a big shock that Clay bats for the other team? It was so obvious the first time he stepped foot on the American Idol stage. Dolly was the one in denial. She swore up and down that he wasn't gay, just "really, really feminine". Hmmm. He grosses me out. I can't waste a post on him.

Also, I do not care for William Jefferson Clinton (see, I even know his entire name). He actually makes me laugh because he is such a smooth talker. He's almost a joke! But I can see the sex appeal. I know, I'm crazy! So call me crazy.

Dolly said...

I'm laughing about Clay Gayken. I just hate it when a "christian" in show business gets told they are gay by everyone because they seem a little feminine. I just wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that it wasn't so. I do (or did)have a problem with gravitating toward the more fem men. That is until I met Leland!

On to Shep Smith. Yes, it's true what Jennifer says. He does play for the other team. My friend Angela who used to work for Fox News in DC was on the elevator with him. She said he was hot but is a HUGE smoker and wreaked of smoke so that made him less attractive as well as his relational preferences.

Nancy said...

Good for you Donna! I can see the posts now.

And Dolly - "relational purposes" is beautifully written.

Cissie said...

Way to go Donna, no looking back now! You husband will be a happy man Im sure!

Janis Reber said...

Good for you, Donna. Roy will be so surprised and happy when he comes home and finds Fox on the tv. You'll really enjoy it, too. I have it on all the time now....and you KNOW that I've been a GMA person for years! Now as far as you thinking Bill is smooth and "all that"....it wasn't until you met him and shook his hand....and looked into his face that you saw how women could be so easily attracted to him. The thing is.....HE KNOWS that, too!

jday said...

SHEP IS GAY?????? CLAY IS OUT OF THE CLOSET??? Where have I been??!!

Donna, good for you! $12 a month well spent!!

Unknown said...

Girls, Let me clarify that I do NOT...repeat...do NOT think William Jefferson Clinton is sexy in ANY way and yes, I think DonDon is coo coo for coco puffs to think that. HOWEVER, how dare you slander dear Shephard. He is NOT gay. I just won't have it. I would rather Donna go on and on about how great BC is than to hear Sheppie baby is gay. He can be a smoker...fine. But NO, NO, NO...he's NOT gay. I mean...why would a gay man want to be a reporter for Fox News of all networks? I'm going to inquire via Brett Baer. He's in line for Shep's job anyway so he'll be honest about it. I know he will.

Donna said...

Hannah, I have to say that I have been watching Fox News all day and your Sheppy boy was on there for most of it. I'm going to go with the jury here and say that I think he is. I mean, he is REALLY tan and his hair is REALLY fake colored. Plus he had a wide pinstriped suit on. I'm just sayin.

Denise said...

As long as we are commenting on boys being gay, can anyone tell me what you think about Anderson Cooper. Me likie him. I know he is on the wrong network but he's a looker.

Thoughts?

Donna said...

Wow. I'm glad my blog is private and I hope we are not offending and lurkers of mine out there. That being said, I think Anderson Cooper is good looking, too. He needs to stop wearing the tight t-shirts when he's on assignment, though. I like his coy smile. I think he MAY be a little conservative, too. I'm not sure about his "relational preferences" as Dolly would say.

Tonya said...

Denise,

I have it on very good authority (AKA my gay brother-in-law who lives in Manhattan 4 blocks from good ol Andy) that he definitely plays for the other team. I too shed tears over this and refused to believe it initially as I do find him yummy for some reason. But, in the end, I cannot deny my BIL's gaydar, it's right on.

Tonya said...

And, he says Anderson is also a short man, way shorter than he looks on TV.

Unknown said...

Oh yeah..Denny likie her some salt n peppa!!!! I agree I think he's conservative and a handsome prepster.

Shep has a bad boy side to him and I admit he is mysterious. Maybe that's the appeal. Yeah..I wouldn't be saying ANY of this if your blog was public. He is STILL NOT GAY. He's just tan. He was even tan in his grubby clothes at the NOLA Hurricane coverage...no makeup or nothing...I promise.

Karen said...

I've seen Anderson in person, and he is rather short.

Dolly said...

I'm laughing at all these comments. Denise, I have to agree with Tonya...I've heard Andy is unfortunately gay too! I mean really...these days it's almost unheard of for a good looking older man not to be. It's really sad! Makes me excited to raise a boy like a man!!!

Jennifer said...

STOP THE PRESSES...Hannah knows Bret Baier??? I love good ole Bret...was watching him tonight in fact. HPS, send him my love and tell him that I have an ex who's name is Bret and he also spells his name with only one "t."

Donna, LOL at the gray pinstriped suit because I was watching Shep "I'm so gay" tonight and thought the same thing...he's so gay because you're wearing that suit. Sorry Hannah...your smoker boy bats for the other team. :(((

Seriously, you guys think Anderson C is conservative? I just don't. Watched him on several occasions and have ended up wanting to throw things at the TV. He's a libby.

Nancy said...

I thought it was documented that Anderson Cooper was gay - maybe I've just been assuming though.

Enjoy your day!

Denise said...

Well, what a sad morning to wake up and find out about AC. Tonya, thank you for your knowledge in this area. I laughed when you called him "yummy." He is--or was. I view him a bit different now.

I do like me some salt and pepper that is for sure.

Okay, I know Sam Champion on GMA is gay. So now I guess everyone is gonna tell me that Robin Roberts is too. I know Jenius, you already googled her, but I just want to confirm from other commenters.

And Donna, I am glad your blog it privie too!

Dolly said...

Yah, Donna's blog is private but you forget that she's got about 100 people who still view it. Remember, she had to make CUTS? hahahah! Graham Central Station is def the most popular "private" blog. We need to be having this conversation on a private blog that doesn't have so many viewers.

Tonya said...

I also can't look at him the same. It ruined it for me too. And I think he is a liberal too. And I don't like men who are shorter than me...

Donna said...

Denise, I don't want to ruin your day but I think Robin likes girls. I love Robin, but come on. Again, it's obvious. I think I have gaydar, too.

Donna said...

by the way, who would have thought me getting Fox News would stir up such conversation!

Dolly said...

Donna, I was just thinking the same thing. I love the simple small little posts that tend to get comments up to the 40's and 50's. Denise always has good conversational comments from some of her posts. Funny!

Jennifer said...

I agree - Robin Roberts likes girls. I really like her, but she does like girls.

Tonya said...

I think Robin Roberts is really good friends with the head coach of the USA womens basketball team, really good friends. I'm just sayin.

Dolly said...

girls, I don't think she's gay. I mean she seems a little "tom boyish" if you will but I think she may be a Christian. I did meet her in person and I didn't get a lesbo vibe from her. I could be wrong but I want to give ole RR the benefit of the doubt.

Donna said...

Oh great! Here we go again. It's like Clay Aiken ALLLL over. Dolly, we know plenty of Christians who are gay, unfortunately. I love how you give the benefit of the doubt:) You like to hold on to hope until the closet door is cracked open.

Nancy said...

I've always thought Robin Roberts was "tomboyish" and all, but is she gay? I think she wrote an article about Hurricane Katrina and her hometown in Guideposts and all.

Donna said...

Yeah, Nancy...she wrote an article in Guideposts so she's definitely not gay! I'm LOL!

Dolly said...

well, you're probably right BUT I want to see more proof. I just googled her and there isn't anything definite.

Denise said...

I cannot believe Jenius hasn't chimed in! She is all over the fact that RR is gay. If there is something to be found out, Jenius will find it--thus part of her meaning behind her name, Jenius!

Dayna said...

Well...I will tell you one older man who is hot and definetly not gay. Can anyone guess? It's my man Tom Selleck. He can beat BC, Shep, AC, and all the others any day. Oh, and by the way, I married his look alike!!

Dolly said...

ahahahh! Dayna chimed in with good old faithful, Tom Selleck! He's a repub too Dayna! You know how to pick them. I'm singing the theme song to Magnum PI in my head right now.

The Jones' said...

Thanks for the laughs this morning girls! My husband is googl'ing everyone on Foxnews now to get dirt... We are HUGE Foxnews fans and I agree AC is a cutie. Did anyone watch Survivor last night?? Hilarious that Marcus is making an alliance with a guy who thinks he is hot...its going to be a crazy season!

Momofgirls said...

WHAT??!! Do you REALLY think RR is gay? I am so crushed! I really thought she was just a nice conservative christian girl who hadn't found Mr. Right yet!!

I KNEW Sam must be a "pretty boy", but Robin?? UGH!

Hey Dolly, if you invite me to your blog I promise a reallllly good baby gift!!

And FYI...we don't even have cable or satellite tv..just the 4 freebies..My husband refuses..so NO JON ANK KATE for me!!! WWAAAA!!

Suzanne said...

I love it!! Fox News, I must say it is taking over my GMA's in the morning now, at least during this election. and O Reilly and Hannity are my two top fav's. Love it!! So educational and fair!

Suzanne said...

next thing, you may quite watching the view??? who knows? You are now getting some truth through Fox news!!

Momofgirls said...

I forgot to say...Dayna..Tom is my all time fave too! He is still delicious after all these years! :)

sassy seamstress said...

you all make me laugh. i so enjoy reading all of your comments. if you make another private blog, please invite this "lurker" :)

Donna said...

I have to say that I laughed a lot during Bill O'Reiley's show last night. That guy is crazy and doesn't care who he offends. He's so cocky, but it's great.

Okay, girls. I dont' know what's wrong with me but I'm just attracted to hot liberals. George Clooney is another guy who is so good looking to me. He knows it, so that takes away some of the charm. But he's just so Cary Grant-ish. Wooo!

Dayna, I have to agree that Tom is a looker, too. I like him in Quigley Down Under:)

Nancy said...

Donna - Is this some sort of record for comments for you? This is great dialogue!

Denise said...

Donna--Georgie makes me want to go "Bwwwwah, bwaaaah." He is a nasty libie!

Kristie said...

46 comments! And I am in shock about Robin Roberts! I thought she was such a nice Christian girl! Dolly - I am with you - I just can't believe it.

Nancy said...

David shared this with me when the People arrived in our mailbox with Clay on the cover. (He did not think this up - someone told him in the past)

"He might not be gay, but he's on the waiting list"

We had a good laugh!

I'm still in denial about Robin - I mean she wrote for Guideposts.

Unknown said...

GIRLS! Max, Shep and I are all snuggled up by the fire. As you may know, Sheppie went to Ole Miss and he just can't wipe the permagrin off his face b/c he is so excited to be there. He even just said, "I wish there was a football game for me to stick around and see." MAX wants to know...how many gay guys do you know that would be into Ole Miss football? Max says he wants some dirt if ya'll are gonna make that claim. His gaydar just ain't goin off. PRAISE THE LORD.

Are ya'll saying that about RR just cuz she has short hair or what? I'll see what I can find.

Oh yeah..Max also said if you wanna call token TV people gay...it's prolly safe to straight for the meterologists but I'm not too sure about that one...Al Roker?

Donna said...

As far as meterologists go, Sam Shepherd (any relation to Shep?) is definitely on the list. I do like him, though! I'll admit, HPS, Shep looked better tonight. I just got done watching him and I heard the Football comment. Maybe that's his "alibi"? As far as Robin goes, I love her, too, and I hate to stereotype here but come on. She is realllllly into sports, is not in a relationship--nor has she been---and she said on TV one morning (to Sam Shepard) that she loves to vacation in the FL Keys. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Nancy, I love David's phrase. That's a good one!

Janis Reber said...

OK, Jenius has been on the road all day, traveling from Kentucky back to the burg. So now as I'm sitting here reading all these great comments, I guess there's not much else to say. You girls all seem to have things figured out. If there are ever any doubts, just google the person's name and put gay next to it. Lots of things usually come up if there is a question in anyone's mind about their preference. Google has it all. Too many really great, wonderful tv personalities are on the other side....but I do think that's part of their agenda, too. They are coming across as beautiful people with great jobs and just like you and me! So....what's so wrong with being gay? I really like some of these people, too.....and Daddy LOVES ol' Sam Champion. So their agenda is to make us all love them and show us that they're just regular people like anyone else. It's working, too. We all like these people.....well, except for Rosie. She's one person I just can't tolerate. Even Ellen is so funny.....I know lots of you watch her show. So, here are my comments, Denise.....for what they're worth.

jday said...

Man, I go out for a couple of hours and come home to find that I've been missing all of this good stuff!!!

I agree with Denise, George Clooney makes me sick and his superior attitude is repulsive. Once I hear those Hollywood Libs flappin' their jaws about conservatives, I cut them off!! Alec Baldwin, Matt Damon, George Clooney, etc... I cannot stand to look at their faces or listen to them speak a word! And I refuse to spend $1. on anything having to do with them. There, I feel better! :)

Nancy said...

Re: Al Roker - he's married to Debra Roberts (I think that is her last name). She reports for ABC News on specials like 20/20.

Not confirming or denying - just reporting the facts (that he's married).

What about Ellen D? Do yall think she's gay? Just wondering.

Denise said...

Nancy Nancy Nancy. Sweet girl are you serious about Ellen???? Do you not know OR are you being sarcastic?

Here's another person in question. Different area of TV, but any thoughts on Duff from Ace of Cakes?

Denise said...

Also, Julie I totally agree with you. I hate even spending $1 on those peeps you mentioned. They drive me nuts!

I only buy those magazines when I am traveling--just to mock them and pass the time by. I'm getting too old!

Donna said...

Nancy! You're funny.

Sorry. I got Sam Champion's name mixed up. I was thinking it was Sam Shepherd for some reason.

Again, all I like about George Clooney is his looks. I can't STAND to hear his beliefs/views. It makes me sick how all of these Hollywood stars think they know everything there is to know about politics. I would LOVE to give the job of presidency to George Clooney, Matt Damon or Susan Sarandon for a month and see how they do. Part of me doesn't care if Obama wins because then we'll see what kind of messes he makes and everyone will see that being President isn't the easiest job in the world. Don't worry....I'm not for Obama now and I DO NOT think he is good looking in the least bit. Eat some carbs, Barack.

Nancy said...

Just joshin' yall about Ellen. I'm not that naive! I'm just sad about Robin.

Kristi Smalley said...

WOOOOOOOHHHHH!!! I go to the Texas state fair and come back to 57 comments about all these people. Now, I got a little lost in the above comments. Did we or did we not establish the fact that these people ARE gay....C. Aiken, A. Cooper, and S. Champion? And are we still undecided about SHEP and R. Roberts? I just want to get my facts straight. I did not know that about Champion and Cooper. How sad b/c I really liked both of them. I want SOOOO bad to throw another question mark into the pot but I might have to do it via email b/c it involves a beloved singer from the burg whose mother was a professor at LU and has a sister names Missy???? HHHHMMMMMM????? I have heard rumors.

Anyway, I have to say this and I hope I don't offend you Donna. I respect her for her views and applaud her for standing alone most of the time....but Elizabeth gets on my nerves sometimes on the View. THere I said it!!!! Don't remove me from your list. Sometimes I just want to tell her to hush b/c she cuts in so much and goes on and on and she will sometimes get so heated in her comebacks that people don't take her seriously. She can come across as a little hysterical at times. Of course the flip side is that I DETEST Joy Behar. She is ridiculous!

I had a blog idea the other day...how bout we all submit questions to Jenius and have her answer them for us....do the mentor mom thing? Just a thougth?

Donna said...

Kristi! You are a mess! I love the blog/Mentor Mom idea for Jenius. That is hilarious!

As far as Elisabeth (guys, she spells her name with an "s"...get it right!), she does get on my nerves at times, too. Her voice, especially. But yes, she does go a little hysterical on her points at times and she talks reallllly fast. But, she has to face those others every day and fight for her view to be heard. I commend her for that.

Again, I'm laughing at everything you wrote:)

Tonya said...

Oh wow Donna! 59 comments! You sure know how to get a debate going! I was gone until late last night and just want to say that I agree that AC, Sam Champ (my BIL has been to a party at his boyfriends house in East Hampton), C Aiken, and RR are all gay. I dont want to think Shep is gay. And for the LU comment, I also have heard the rumors.

Dolly said...

Just checking in on all these comments and all I have to say is that I'm with Julie and Denise on Clooney and any "sexy" man in Hollywood for that matter. The older I get, the more I hate Hollywood and don't really even enjoy going to movies as much as I used to. Call it "getting old" but I prefer to think of it as NO TOLERANCE!! They are so eaten up with themselves and what's COOL at the moment. (Ex: Obama) and I don't even want to support a little of it. Now don't get me wrong, I still like to see movies but I am not the least impressed with their looks!

Now, let me come on over to the other side (Julie, you'll like this comment). Sean Hannity is one that I think is very nice looking! He's a true man who's got it together!!!

Dayna said...

Once again..all I have to say is TOM SELLECK!!

Kristi Smalley said...

Dayna, I love me some Tom Selleck. Those dimples kill me!

Denise said...

I cannot believe how long we have hashed this out!

sassy seamstress said...

we may move on (or not) by the time you all read this comment, but here's a little math equation for ya:

If you add up all of the comments from liberals that EliSabeth is up against, average them, then add up all of the comments that Elisabeth makes, it's probably about the same.

Bless her heart. She is a minority out there in the media world. I think she has a right to get a bit hysterical every once in a while. She is THE voice on The View (which I don't watch) for all of us conservatives out there.

Momofgirls said...

I KNEW this conversation wasn't over!! Ha HA..I am supposed to be getting everything ready for my daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday party tonight, yet, here I am...like I don't have 20 teenagers coming over later!!!

Kristi..I heard the same LU rumor..do you believe it? And..INVITE me to your blog!!!

Okay that was me who deleted a comment. I told a story I heard from my friend, but then I thought maybe it wasn't appropriate for me to put it on someone else's blog...I was convicted. :)

Anyway, I am howling at the thought of Jenius typing in someone's name and putting gay at the end of it...HILARIOUS!!

That's our Jeanie in a bottle for you! She is our resident PI! Jenius PI!

Okay, I desperately need a new post because these comments are out of control. Unfortunately, I have nothing to blog about! Quick, I need an idea!
