I just decided to go gas up my car since I was almost on empty and was out running errands. I drove the 5 miles to South Carolina and was trying to figure out what all the crazy traffic was about. There is this one intersection that we go get our gas at--it has 3 gas stations at 3 of the corners and the gas is always very cheap. Well, one of the gas stations' sign read $4.29! What?! I just paid $3.59 (NC price) last week?! The cheapest gas station was $4.09 but the traffic line to get into that Exxon was lined up all along the highway. I went to the $4.19 station and purchased right at $56 in gas! This is crazy. It's funny what a hurricane will do. Below is the picture of the highway leading to the gas stations. Traffic was backed up for miles (you can see the traffic in the front of my window. It's not a great pic, but I was on the go at the time):

And we went to the doctor this afternoon for RA because he has not been eating, drinking or peeing. Plus he woke up screaming from his nap. He has some type of virus and now I'm starting to feel kind of funny. At least it's not ear infections, though! RoyBoy is sitting her downing a Pedialyte as I type. Isn't it great that my hubby gets to be out of town at a time like this? We had to cancel going to two birthday parties tomorrow. Nancy, I may be calling you tomorrow about finding a sub for me on Sunday:(
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Working on that sub right now, Donna. I'm sorry you are not feeling well and the Roy Austin is sick too.
I hope you both feel better soon.
Donna, I hope Roy's appointment at the Doctor went well and that he will be well soon. Praying you will get some sleep tonight.
I drove to pick up Liam from school and saw gas signs at $4.29 and thought what is going on. I filled up at Costco on Wednesday at $3.60 per gallon. Glenn and my Dad went to Costco tonight to get steaks to grill and came back reporting how backed up the lines were at the Costco gas pumps.
Crazy...absolutely Crazy!
Hope little Roy Austin feels better... he looks so sad in the pictures ;-(
Yeah, the pumps were all crazy here too...guess they closed up a lot of the oil rigs with the hurrican coming...crazy!
You listen here, Aunt Jenny will be up there to take of RoyBoy (and you) if you need me too! Poor thing! :( Has Caroline shown signs of getting it? Oh, I really hope you don't catch it either because nothing like taking care of sicks kids when you're sick.
Hang in there...won't be long before Kristi's pen pal gets home to relieve you!
Sorry Donna. Marg's is sick too. There is nothing worse than a sick baby. I hope you slept better than I did last night. Of course my sweet love just slept right thru all the crying and me getting up constantly. I did make him get up at 2:45 and get Margaux a sippy cup of cold water and more Tylenol. Gotta love him, gooooota love him.
Well, RA woke up with diarrhea and he is a crying mess with a stopped up nose. My throat is sore now, too, and I have to help give a baby shower tomorrow! So, we can't go anywhere today and my daughter is driving me crazy! She's being good but if I hear, "Mommy, look!" one more time, I'm going to snap. Roy called last night and I was tellign him about my evening last night of going to the dr. and traffic, gas, my throat hurting and he says, "yeah, my throat is sore, too". I almost went through the phone line and hit him!
Jennifer, wouldn't it be funny if I took you up on your offer and asked you to drive up here to take care of me and my kids?!
Donna, AAAAHHHH!!! You poor thing! Why do kids always get sick when our husbands are out of town? Have you also ever noticed that men have to one-up you on the sickness thing. Mike gets paranoid sickness. If anyone in the house has any ailments, he mysteriously gets the same symptoms overnight and of course, his is so much more dramatic and traumatic. Men are such babies!
Oh, Poor little RoyBoy. It's so sad when they are sick; they're so helpless and just look at you to make them feel better even before they can talk.
We pay for gas by the liter. It's down a little right now at a $1.20ish. That may sound great, but it equates to over FIVE DOLLARS a gallon. WHAT? that's ridiculous...it's depressing when you have to think twice about going out and ask yourself if it's worth the gas. hopefully Roy is getting back soon!
