Ahoy, Matey!
I took the advice from my friends, Nikki and Julie , and went to BigLots in search of the deal of the summer! Now, I have only been to BigLots 2 times since I've lived in Charlotte because both locations here are NAAAA-STTTY, but I entered this morning and I'm glad I did. The pirate ship you see below was regular $45.00 but I got it for $7.50! Even the checkout lady was shocked. It had Donna Graham written all over it because it was the last one on the shelf. It's supposed to be an outside water toy, but as you can see my kids love it in the playroom! It includes Pirate hats, swords, shields, a treasure chest, cannon balls, a steering wheel---all for $7.50! Once they're done with it tonight, I'm going to store it away for a rainy day activity. So, if you have a BigLots in your town, go get one! Thanks for the tip, Nikki! Charlottians, don't bother looking on South Boulevard:)

Wow! This pirate ship thing is a hit! Denise, maybe it's your turn to head to Big Lots. Looks like Caroline LOVES it! Nikki needs to be a personal shopper.
Good score with the pirate ship! I love Big Lots, but I rarely go there. I always feel like I need a shower when I leave. I did get AK's potty there for $6 - and it even "flushes".
Hmmmmmmm
I am so proud of you Donna! Way to be brave and venture into dangerous territory for your children! I hope you had an easier time blowing yours up than I did. It took me an hour and I was all sweaty and ticked off by the time I was finished. Yet again one of those tacky items I swore I would never buy for my child, but never say never. At least you and Julie were smart enough to put it inside. I put ours right in the front yard. I am sure the neighbors were thrilled.
Come on Denise...you know you want one. Be brave, go to BL and then immediately take a shower when you leave.
Denise, that has your name ALLLLLL over it. That is a hoot, Donna. Caroline can play Wendy (from Peter Pan) in it. Maybe Roy Boy needs a Peter costume for Halloween. :)
Oh, Caroline has been playing pirate ALLL day. I even got in there with her for a little while and we played pirates. Ursula was trying to get in, so we had to stab her with the swords and Ariel was wanting to get in our ship, too. See? It always comes back to the Little Mermaid.
It is a great toy. If there were more, I would have bought them.
Denise, are you saying "Hmmmmm" because you're thinking of getting one? I'm confused.
Good deal. Way to bring the goods from afar (i.e. Big Lots). Is the pirate ship located in your playroom? Great idea!
Isn't there a BL's somewhere in Matthews? Maybe it wouldn't be as bad as the S Blvd location?
Wow! That is huge! Donna, you have to come shopping with me!
Donna,
That last picture of
Roy Austin looks so much like Roy did when he was that age.
Find me one of those Pirates Ships......I want one.
Miss you all........and much love
You Da Bomb! I am going to be near a Big Lots today so I am going to check it out!
Jane or Cissie---Go to the Big Lots in Boone. This would be a cool toy for Nana's house:)
You are a better mom than me to let all the air out of it and put it away for a rainy day! Our ship will be out for another month or so before I lug it upstairs to my sewing room. The kids sure do love it though, don't they?!
Julie, it didn't go away last night. Caroline is OBSESSED with this ship. She talks pirate all day long (ie: Argh, matey. Captain Mommy, I'm hungry) It gets a little annoying, but she really loves this toy. It will stay up for a while. Plus Roy told me on the phone that he can't wait to see it!
Looks like MUCH fun!!
They are so cute playing in that - I know they love it! What a deal!!!
Did you blow that up with your mouth? Whew, now that would definitely definitely wear this old lady out. Okay, peer pressure is setting in...I'm heading to Big Lots.
WOW!! What an awesome deal. Dave is probably going to send me all over looking for one of these!
