What a weekend it has been. My sisters, Dawn and Dolly, came for a little visit this weekend and we have gone full speed. We started the weekend off by going to Sarah Johnson's first birthday party, but unfortunately I forgot my camera! It was a sweet party and we enjoyed ourselves. After we went home and freshened up, we left the kids at home with Roy and the girls and I hit South Park mall for a little shopping and registering for Baby Seckman at Pottery Barn Kids. Dolly doesn't know what she's having yet, so we (again, I feel like I'm registering!!) couldn't register for everything:

Dolly was a little nervous to walk in and tell the ladies she needed to register, but I helped her overcome that little setback! When we got to the changing pad covers, Dolly said "Now, wait. What is this for?" I had to stop and give a little demo on changing pads.
Dolly bought her little one his/her first prize. A cute little camel colored cardi (cardigan). Here is the proud mama checking out the sizes.

Dawn had to look for a prize of her own. She saw this giraffe printed bag at one of the mall kiosks and she was smitten. Here is the saleslady holding up a mirror--or as she said it, "Meerrow"--for Dawn to see how she looks with it. She liked what she saw because she is now the proud owner of that beauty.

While we were waiting on Dawn to buy the purse, this little pooch passed us by. Dolly followed the proud owner to ask for a picture and she gladly accepted. Actually, the lady told Dolly that "Prancer LOVES to pose for pictures". Weird, I know. But hey, anyone who gets a stroller for their dog is a little strange. Plus, the lady had on black and pink to match Prancer's ride.

We started to get a little thirsty, so we looked around to find a little treat. The pregnant lady wanted a smoothie, so smoothies it was. She LOVED her smoothie.

Dawn and I did, too.

Oh yes we did. Roy and I took the girls to Mac's Speed Shop for a little bar-b-que after church on Sunday. Roy took Caroline home and the rest of us did a little shopping at Crate and Barrel, took Dolly to Destination Maternity and then headed on to Babies R Us to do some more registering!

Dolly finally got to park in the "Expectant Mothers" parking spot.

Here's the proud mom getting ready to start her wish list.

We hit that store like it was on fire. The registering system was down so we had to register by hand! Here we are looking at receiving blankets. I had to give another demo to Dolly about these types of blankets. She's learning, though. She's learning.
Auntie Dawnie came through for me again! Roy Austin spent the day with the ladies and he was a trooper. Dawn took care of him and did a superb job! We jokingly refer to her as a "the nanny" in our family because she is great at taking care of all of the kids and putting them to sleep! She did not dissapoint today. No sirree.

Bless his sweet, little heart. He was exhausted by the time we left the store. I think he was asleep within 1 minute of this picture being taken.
After a quick dinner of leftovers, Caroline's Aunties took her out for some ice cream and girl time in Dawn's convertible. Caroline thought she was SOOO cool and came back very hyped up ond girl power and a wad of bubble gum in her mouth. She was in heaven.
Now we are sitting on the couch in our comfy clothes, watching The Bachelor Marathon on VH1 with Roy, and we are tired. (By the way, remember Trista and Alex?!). Tomorrow Dawn goes back to VA and Dolly and I are doing...guess what? Yep. Hitting more baby places! Oh, and also, Dawn discovered Facebook this weekend, so if y'all have an account, look up "Dawn Reber" and invite her. Have a good week, everyone!

Donna, it had been nearly a week since your last post. I was getting a little worried. For you, that is a record.
What a great weekend! It looks like yall are having such a blast! I just wish Denise could've been there. I LOVED Dawn's bag. I would've bought it too. You are very blessed with your nanny.
I bet Dolly is having so much fun. There is nothing like the first pregnancy and the first time to register for everything. It is SO FUN!!!! I'm glad you were along to be her Baby Mama! Ha! GOOD POST!
Man Dolly is still sooo tiny! I hope I look half as good as she does when I am pregnant!
Donna good thing you can lead the way, taking charge! I hated wedding registering, so I can only imagine doing it for a baby!
WOO HOOOOOO. Looking good and Sassy IN THE CITY (and the Solara)!!!!! Carol will never be the same upon her auntie's EXit. It was good to be able to briefly visit with They Lynchburg D's. Gotta love em! Good update and Smalley's RIGHT...It was HIGH TIME, Graham!
Love the title to this post! You Reber girls are so much fun! I love how you take random shots of you girls eating smoothies! lol My favorite pic is of the girls in Dawn's convertible! What happen to the trusty Toyota 4 Runner??
And who knew they let dogs in SP mall? That must have been one strange lady.
HPS, LOL. You are a funny one.
Looks like you all had a great weekend! I remember registering at all those places! How fun!
I'm so glad you all had such a nice time together. Wish I could have been there with you. Oh.....they just now put the list of hurricane names on GMA. The "D" name is Dolly!!! Hope you don't blow in too badly, Dolly! Anyway, back to the subject. Dawn just called and said she's back. You two other girls have a great time together for the next couple days. The pictures were great. Thanks for the newsy post. ILY all.
I have heard so much about this BBQ place, no joke it was in my dream last night! I was upset with Roy b/c he didn't take me there after we passed it and he takes everyone else there!
Let me tell you, I was SO HAPPY that Donna was willing to help me and come around to register with me. It WAS overwhelming and I was one tired girl when it was done. There are so many things I would have never thought of. I'm glad Donna likes doing that kind of stuff.
HPS, you're one funny girl! It's been fun being back here in Charlotte. Glad Dawn got here okay. It was fun having her here too.
You guys made registering look like a blast! You guys have some serious shopping places there in Charlotte. I love that Dolly bought a little "something" for the baby. I did that with a white sweater and I couldn't wait to put it on Will when he arrived.
Dawn, I love your bag. There is an adorable key chain you HAVE to have to go with it. ( I got one for Kirsten 'cause she has that same bag) Go to Little bo peep tails.com (all one word) You can get your initials monogrammed on it. By the way, hands ON the wheel Dawn, hands on the wheel. :)
ps - I know I've said it before Donna, but that little Roy Austin is a PUN-KIN! Those eyes and that little button nose....I wanna squeeze him!
pss- Krisit, you should feel better, I think you've met your match in EXTREMELY long comments! whoops. I might as well have done my own post about it already. :)
the other pss was for KRISTI, not Krisit. proof read it Angela!
Awe, you make registering look like so much fun!!! It's so great that you girls have eachother to do things like that. I love my brothers, but what I would do to have a sista. :) Have fun today!!!!
Looks like so much FUN! Glad y'all could help Dolly out and have some good sista time! I know Caroline loved having them in town!!
Donna,
You don't disappoint, girl ---I knew you'd have some FUN, EXCITING post ready for us from the weekend! HOW FUN to watch you and Dolly --- I had NO idea that there was such a science to baby registering --WOW! Dolly, you look FABULOUS -- can't wait to watch you grow and hear about your little one. RA is soooo adorable ---what a trooper shopping with you girls! And Caroline will have SUCH sweet memories of her awesome aunts ---you all make me smile!
What a girly weekend, so fun!! Dolly is so lucky to have such wonderful sisters (and girlfriends) to help her get ready for the little one! Registering is fun when you have someone tell you what everything is. You made me hungry for bbq...
Love the post Donna. All I can say is Whaaaa, but enough of that.
Kristi- thanks of thinking of me.
Cissie--I had a dream about BBQ TOO! It was after HPS's post about BBQ. Funny!
Dolly, eat a burger for us! PLEASE! You are SO tiny!
Oh, what fun! Dolly, you look too cute!
Oh Donna...what a good sista you are to go to Babies-R-Us and help Dolly register...that was considered TORTURE for me! That store is WAY too overwhelming...you're the bomb for telling Dolly Mama what she will need when that little turkey gets here!
Oh no you didn't say The Bachelor...I sat on the couch this afternoon for TWO HOURS and watched the last part of when Trista picked Ryan and they got engaged. Seriously, could he write any more nasty, sappy poems for her??? Do you watch the new Bachelorette with Deanna? Yep, I'm addicted.
But, I digress...back to your post...looks like a fun time with some of the Reber sistas!
I loved this recap!!! I felt like I was there w/ you guys. What a fun sister weekend and I know Dolly LOVED registering! I'm sure she was glad to have you help her with the must-haves and don't-really-needs...Glad you guys had so much fun!
a little late on the commenting, i know...but i had to let angela know i was parked while the picture was taken, not in motion, not...in...motion. i drive responsible with other passenger - especially my expecting sista and niece. :)
i had a great time...can't wait to go back!
Great post, Donna. I know how overwhelming Babies R Us was for US! Good thing you were there for Dolly. What a fun weekend you all had!
Okay Donna, I've got to come out of lurking so I can ask an important question - where is this BBQ place? BBQ is one of my favorite foods, so I can't believe I haven't heard about this place before!
LOL that Dave calls HIMSELF "Tiger." OK...Mac's Speed Shop...went there for dinner last night w/ my Daddy and Max. I gotta be honest...it doesn't hold a candle to Jim N' Nicks (or even Woodlands). The Q, collards, brunswick stew etc. at Mac's have a real sweet hint to them. Me like my meat SMOKY tasting. I can see why Roy likes the Harleyesque ambience, though! Tiger, mark your calendar for June 17. THE opening of the NEW Jim N' Nick's. Corner of Tryon and 160. Be there or be square!
ALRIGHT, TIGER DAVE!!! It's about time you made your presence known! I'm proud of you! Take 77N to the Remount Road exit. Take a right at the top of the exit ramp and at the intersection of Remount and South Blvd, you'll see a friendly 'lil place called Mac's Speed Shop. Look for the motorcycles.
HPS, it holds a HUGE candle to Woodlands! I haven't been to Jim n Nicks, but I will try it soon. I love Mac's hush puppies and mac and cheese. you have to admit, it's delish!
BTW, Dave is a "tiger" because he went to Clemson. He is Chrystal's husband. I like to call him Tiger Dave, though:)
I didn't try the mac 'n cheese. Maybe I just got the wrong thing. Our concensus from the meat sampling was that the Brisket and Ribs were the way to go. Although, Max liked the Q, too but he LOVES sweet stuff. They told us that they're opening up a new Mac's on 49 somewhere soon.
