You've Got to be Fueling Me?!

Oh, South Carolina. You are known for many things: juicy peaches, wonderful beaches, palmetto trees, the home of Jennifer Clardy and....CHEAP GASOLINE! For those that don't know, Charlotte, NC is right on the border of SC. Our house is actually about 5 miles from the state line. Being the bargain shopper that I am, I usually drive those extra miles just so that I can save on my gasoline. Today I went to gas up and this is what I found:

Excuse me? These are SC prices? Now, the gas station down the street from our house was $3.29 for Regular yesterday, so I realize that $3.14 is a good price, but still! I remember in college when gasoline was .98! I guess those days are forever gone and just a distant memory that I can tell my kids about.

Speaking of kids....Warning: I am about to do what some might call "brag" about my child. So if that kind of stuff makes you want to gag, then stop reading. However, if you have a preschool aged child, then may I suggest that you invest in some Leap Frog DVD's? My old neighbor ranted and raved about them last year and I thought she was just being silly. I picked the above DVD up at the consignment sale three weeks ago and my almost 3 year old now knows what EVERY letter of the alphabet says! Seriously. We went through all 26 letters yesterday and she told me the sound that each one made. I even mixed it up a little. Mommy is very proud:) Two words: Smarty Pants.

First of all, when I fill up my "burban" it is 97 DOLLARS!!!!!
And that is with the lowest grade too.

Second, I need Carol to come rub off on Harry Jack. He is going to be the one that will need extra help in school. Bless his SWEET heart. He calls the color black or navy "DARK." He is so funny! Good for Carol!

Jenny from the block, I just edited my post to tickle your fancy.

Denise, get the DVD. it's 9.99 at our mecca (Target). Before C watched it, she had no idea what any sound made. LOL at HJ calling black "dark"!

Way to go Caroline!! Next time I see her/we have girls night, I can't wait for her to show off for us!!

Thanks for adding my name, but I was really just kidding you! Boy...people are going to be really dissapointed when they click on my name and see it's just a nobody.

Ashleigh, you're a lucky girl that you can just swing by on the way to and from work and fill up for $3.09. That's great!

Good for Carol. She left me a message on my cell phone the other day and I was noticing how clear and well she is talking now. Must have something to do with the ABC's?

I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!! our friend recommended it to us when I was complaining that Lola-Reese didn't know all her letters! I am telling you in under a week, she knew them and the sounds. It is kinda obnoxious but I guess it really works! Way to go Caroline!

Yes, we should meet in Gaffney one day at the Cracker Barrel. Although, maybe we should wait until Christmas so we can make sure and get their CINNAMON BISCUITS!!! :)

Let me start saving my gas money...

LOL about meeting Mighty Max in Gaffney! That would be funny! I've never had CB's Cinnamon Biscuits. I like their normal biscuits so I'm thining the cinnamon ones would be delicious!

Donna, if Caroline likes that one, you also need to get Words Factory and Math Circus. I thought my boys might be too young for them, but they LOVE them!! Now, I can't say that Wesley is spouting of his ABC's, but he asks to watch it a lot. All in good time, all in good time. I get those little songs in my head. And the "E" letter makes me laugh...he's like "eh?"

Gas, shew, what are we gonna do about these gas prices? Did you hear about the guy out west that found oil on his property? I'm gonna have the boys start digging in our back yard.
