Look at that technique!

Today is also a special day for me and Roy. Seven years ago today, he brought me up to his grandparent's house "for lunch". He suggested what I should wear--a yellow dress I wore at the time that he loved. When we got there, he asked me if I wanted to go freshen up. I told him I was fine and then he said "why don't you go freshen up". So I went to the bathroom and washed my hands and returned to find an empty kitchen. I sat in the rocker, looked at pictures and then saw a closed mouth-smiling Roy come back into the kitchen walking really slowly. He told me to come with him so he could show me something. I saw that his side pants pocket had something in it and I thought "could this be THE moment?!". He took me out into the yard where his parents were married and got down on one knee and at that moment, the world stopped just for me! I was an extremely happy, giddy girl and I can honestly say that seven years later, I am even happier and my original RoyBoy still makes me giddy! I love him so much and am so thankful to God for coliding our lives at the perfect moment.
One day I'm going to learn how to scan pictures. But for now, these will do. This is us on our engagement day. The pictures were taken by Cissie, who came up that afternoon with her dad to eat lunch with us. Cissie, you're a natural!
And just for laughs, here is a funny picture taken yesterday before my parents went back to VA. Caroline LOVES her blankies. She has a pink one for her bed and a green one for the car. Those are the only times I let her have them. Roy Austin has the exact one in blue. Well, my Dad likes to tease Caroline that her blankies are really his. When he comes to our house, I throw him her blankies and he says stuff like, "oh there's my blanket! I've been looking for it!", which makes Caroline giggle and a then a chase normally takes place. Well, yesterday, Daddy decided to have a "Blankie Parade" with Caroline. We got all three blankets out so Grammy could join in, too. I wish I had it on video to show you...two grown adults and a 3- year-old marching around the house with blankies on their heads:
Look at my Dad!! This is the way he was marching:)

Okay, the picture of mom and dad is so FUNNY! It's funny what you'll do to entertain kids. Especially when they are your grandkids.
I remember the day you got engaged like it was yesterday. I remember you calling me and telling me and I came home from DC just to see you guys and your ring! What an exciting time. You kids are growing up!
What great engagment photos! Good job, Cissie. Caroline sure did pick a bundle of strawberries. Sarah and I are going to ride down to SC to buy a basket soon. and you were right, it is cold today!! Love the pics of Mr and Mrs Reber! Nothing like your grandparents!
That was a sweet post, Donna! I remember when Dolly told me you got engaged and I was so happy for you.
Love the picture of your parents...how cute and what a sweet memory!
Seven years ago!?! I can't believe it. I thought I was the coolest person in the world to take your pictures! wow, time flies.
Donna, you can get music on your blog, but you can't scan a picture? Do you have a scanner on your printer, if so, it's really easy. I have faith in you! That last picture is to cute. What grandparents will do to make their grandchildren happy! Congrats to you and Roy!
Fun posts, Donna. You've been a busy girl! I'm getting tired just reading about all of the activities at the Graham household. Glad y'all had a great time at Disney; I'm looking forward to that in the future. We haven't been brave enough yet! The dedication must have been so special. The kids look gorgeous and so do you!
You are a little posting machine, Donna. You are making up for lost time. I thought the exhaustion from the trip might make you go on a little blog sabatical as well.
This post was so cute of the kids picking strawberries. Loved the story about the engagement. So be honest, were you nervous the first time you met the Graham family? Especially Paw-Paw?
Your parents are great, I love grandparents who dont' just babysit their grandkids but engage them and enter into their worlds and play. Love it!
Donna - great post! I love your engagement story. We got engaged 1 month after you - and we got married 1 month after you guys! I lived in Boone then - but didn't know you. I didn't know Roy then either - but am not sure how I never met him - as I think we were both in Boone at the same time. The first time I met him was at BG in Charlotte. Cute kids with the berries. Fun day!! You do have a lot going on at The Station!
Loved the post--the pic of your parents and Caroline is hilarious! I can just hear your dad now. They are great g-parents!
Love the blankie photos!!!!! It WAS freezing yesterday AND this morning. Did ya'll go to that Strawberry place on Community House? Hope nobody gets (cue the music) Poison Ivy...ouch! Gosh, that was a Downer Debbie comment. Wish I could have a muffin. I love muffins! (Who am I?) Love , Hannie
How cute! Your parents are adorable! I didn't even realize it was strawberry pickin' season already! I better get on the ball!!! We went last year and I still have strawberries in my freezer! Guess it's time to make some jelly!
